Thunder acquire the 18th pick from Heat

Recommended Posts

Finally found a link.

The Miami Heat have traded the 18th pick in Thursday's NBA draft and guard Daequan Cook to Oklahoma City for the Thunder's 32nd pick, a league source told ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher.

Cook, a backup at shooting guard, averaged five points and 15.4 minutes in 45 games last season.

so the heat not only lose a play, but they also get a lower pick?

i understand this is strictly a salary move, but really couldnt this have gone to almost anyone?

i also thought the raps were trying to get another 1st rounder, why wouldnt they offer money to get that pick

this is ridiculous good for the thunder though

It's a win-win trade. The Heat will get Warren at 32, cap relief, and the player they really wanted. The Thunder get a higher pick and a solid role player.

awesome get a three point shooter and can he play SF? love the pick means we have a higher change of getting Orton who im really high on been watching interviews and clips of him i hope he can turn into a Kendrick Perkins guy

With all of the questions surrounding Orton's knees, conditioning, lack of playing time and rawness, I don't think that the Thunder needed to make this trade to get Orton as he probably would still be on the board at 21, or maybe even 26, although I think somebody would take a chance on him by then.

Should be interesting to see what the Thunder do with their three picks. Do they keep all of them or do they try and package them together and move even further up the draft? If they do keep all three, who do they take with them?

This draft is going to be so unpredictable.

26 pick is a stretch 21st i can see someone taking him around the high teen. 17-20

no doubt presti isnt done yet. iv said it before and i think we will get into the top 10 and draft a big.

conditioning i believe he has been addressing so he say in a interview. rawness, well he isnt know to be the offensive player he has shown flashes of it but then again who hasn't we draft him for is defensive abilities. if he comes at a 21st pick he is a high-reward low-risk type of guy (remember this guy was projected to be a lottery pick)
