The Bulls have a trade in place that would send guard Kirk Hinrich and the No. 17 pick to the Wizards, sources told ESPN.com's Ric Bucher.

The move would free up enough cap space for Chicago to sign two max-level free agents this summer.

The deal can't be consummated until July 8, when Washington will have enough room under the cap to absorb Hinrich's contract without having to send anything back in return.--ESPN

Hmm wow I'm liking these latest trade rumors lol, though hinrich is one of my favorite players, his contract doesn't get any smaller. And if this gives us the opportunity to sign 2 big free agents, I'd say go for it. + all this pr right before free agency is great.

Amazing deal for Bulls, this almost guarantees that they will get a combination of LBJ+Bosh or Bosh+Joe Johnson or Amare+Joe Johnson or something, no matter how you slice it this team is going to be great on paper next year.

They could still trade Deng. That would enable them to sign Ray Allen.

I love this deal. As AboveLegit said earlier, I'm praying we use that pick on Xavier Henry if he slips low enough for us to get him. Hinrich will be a solid backup to Wall.

Henry is a LOCK at 15.

If you want to get technical, it actually does. His contract decreased by $500,000 to $8.5M for next season and then the season after that it decreases by $1,000,000 to $8M. ^_^

Wizards get a capable starting point guard who can knock down open shots and defend any point guard and small two guard in the NBA, along with the 17th pick in the draft for what I imagine will be absolutely nothing. What a deal for the Wizards.

And now once this trade happens and with the Heat's trade yesterday, both Miami and Chicago can now offer two max contracts. Chicago is in the best position in the NBA when it comes to free agency, with Miami 2nd. They can offer two max contracts while maintaining 4/5ths of a starting lineup that brought them to the playoffs last year while Miami had to absolutely gut their roster in order to get their cap space (aren't Chalmers and Beasley the only ones under contract now?).

Trade makes sense for both teams. Hinrich is exactly the kind of vet that you would want around a young player like Wall.

I think this spells the end of Arenas in Washington as well, which is probably another reason why Washington would do it, haha.

The only bad thing is, we absorb Hinrich's contract. I laughed at John Hollinger's tweet right after this trade was made public:

johnhollinger OKC swallowed $2 million to get the 18th pick. Wash swallowed $17 million to get 17th pick. Quick quiz: Which team is run better?

Either way, I don't think we'll be players in FA next year.

It's clear Ted wants to build only through the draft, so I'm still happy we made this move.

I think it works out great for both teams, realistically I don't see washington going for a big free agent this off season anyway, and you guys get what 4 draft picks? Hinrich is a good strong leader and will be good to develop wall with, + he has 2 years left on his contract, so he could be great trade bait next season.

I don't see why the Wizards would stick Hinrich in as the backup point guard. He's easily a top three defensive guard in the NBA right now, and he deserves to start at the two.

I hope they buy him out, and he signs with us. Or...they pay us back (Caron for Kwame) by trading him to the Lakers.

You want Arenas on your team?

Well they're letting Mike and Randy go, and they want to have that 3 guard rotation of Arenas, Hinrich, and Wall. Michael Lee just tweeted saying Ernie Grunfeld was always high on Kirk, and he pushed for him to get traded to us.

He's referring to Hinrich.
