magicbalala245
Rumors of New Orleans point guard Chris Paul coming to Orlando for Vince Carter and Jameer Nelson seem to be more real than the Magic are saying. Local 6 sports director David Pingalore, through his NBA sources, is confirming the deal could be completed as soon as Orlando Magic General Manager Otis Smith finds a third team for Hornets Center Emeka Okafor. If for some reason that deal does not work, the Magic have a backup plan. The Chicago Bulls sent Kirk Hinrich to Washington on Thursday, and according to Pingalore's NBA sources, he could be traded with Al Thornton and Randy Foye for Vince Carter. How sick would a dynamic duo of CP3 and Dwight Howard would be? If CP3 could take the Hornets to second place in the Western Conference with Tyson being his Center imagine the damage that could be done in the East. Nitro
As I said in the NO team forum... Paul on the Magic would be lethal, even if it means giving up Jameer and Carter. But as others have said, it's going to take more than that. If the Magic could actually get Paul they would do it instantly, regardless of what anyone says about them not looking to deal Jameer. But for the Hornets, Carter's expiring is nice, but the issue is giving both Jameer and Collison their minutes. Unless the Hornets feel they could trade Jameer, it just doesn't make sense. Seriously, though...Paul on the Magic? That's scary to think about.
kingfish
Why on earth would any team trade for Vince Carter now? Contenders obviously dont want him, hes obviously shown he cant play well under pressure in the playoffs, hes not a guy that you want on a young rebuilding team. If there is a deal between these two it will not involve VC. Edit : read VC has an expiring. Not sure if thats enough for the Hornets though. Owner Real Deal Posted June 25, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted June 25, 2010 Devastating trade for East contenders. Paul would run Howard way too close to the rim, and no player in the league can do anything about Howard finishing a foot from the basket. Definitely not Kobe and Shaq, but that duo would be tough to beat, especially when you add shooters along the perimeter (Shard, Reddick). I'm not sure what this does for New Orleans, though. Could be good, because Collison seems to be prepped for that starting role already, and Nelson can play the two (or vice-versa), but you do run into complications back on defense, because Collison and Nelson will both have trouble defending tall or thick two-guards. You're loading that team with fluent offense, though. Collison, Nelson, Carter, West, even Okafor...they can all score the ball.
Flight
It's just not happening, I'm sorry. That's not a good trade for New Orleans, idk why they would do it. Shinn said he's not about to dump the salary of a franchise player, and the lineup looks better without the trade. Go from Collison to Paul, upgrade. Instead of a PG playing the 2 and trying to defend bigger guys, you've got Thornton who's a true 2 and can score just as much. Fill the 3 with someone, or if nothing else leave Peja to start, and hope he returns to his role from when the Hornets were the 2 seed in the West. AllenIverson#1fan
I like this trade for Orlando. They get the best PG in the league imo. The Hornets, get a all-star PG and a veteren SG in Vince Carter. VC has 2 solid seasons left in him.(atleast)

Lemon
The East should be fun if this happens. Bron and Bosh on Bulls, CP3 and D12 on Magic, and Flash and STAT in Miami should make the league epic.

Check my Stats
Watching this team go up against that new potential Bulls team and the Lakers in the finals would be AMAZING. Though I see no reason why Hornets do this, it would be awesome if it happened. CP3+D12 vs LBJ and CB4...... jebus.
AllenIverson#1fan
That's going to make SO many other teams trash But CP3 with Howard.. that could be great. It's not going tomake them look like Trash. The East wouldn't be affected, only NO and Orlando would be. Unless, you're talking about howit's gonna make other teamslook like trash when you compare them. ChosenOne
Why the hell would the Hornets do this? I ask the same question. This would be a great move by the Magic imo. Edited June 26, 2010 by ChosenOne
The Regime
Just look at what he did with Tyson Chandler, I can't even imagine what he'd do with Howard.
Newman
Just look at what he did with Tyson Chandler, I can't even imagine what he'd do with Howard. This. 25-12 per game for Howard and 20-10 for Paul throughout the season, no doubt.
Flight
IMO Paul's got at least 12 a game if he's playing with the projected Magic lineup. He did 11.whatever last year with pretty much Thornton, West, and whoever may be open for an alley oop.
