Built Ford Tough
1. Hepatitis B crashed his draft stock. He's gonna be OK though. RT @introcollapse: Is this medical issue with Alabi going to stay under wraps. From Johnothan Givony's (DraftExpress) Twitter account. All this does is make him even more of an intimidating post presence. Not only is he a 7'2 (or whatever) shotblocker with a huge wingspan, he has diseases as well. I'm obviously joking abuot that. On a serious note though, I don't claim to be a Hepatits expert or anything, but isn't Hep C the one that you should be worried about and Hep B isn't really that big of a deal at all? Isn't Hep B controlable by medication and can even go away on its own? Even if it is chronic and stays with you forever, isn't it doormant a lot of the time? Again, I don't claim to know much of anything about Hepatitis, but I always thought that Hep B wasn't that big of a deal? It is Hep C that you need to worry about. Regardless, if the Raptors got a top 25 talent in this draft at 50 (well, traded for him) because GM's were scared off from him supposedly having Hep B, I'll take it. Guest STL10
How much did the Mavs sell him for? They(Dallas) bought Dominique Jones for 3 million. I'm just trying to see how genius Donnie Nelson is.
Built Ford Tough
How much did the Mavs sell him for? They(Dallas) bought Dominique Jones for 3 million. I'm just trying to see how genius Donnie Nelson is. Future 2nd round pick and cash. I've yet to hear how much cash they sent to Dallas though, but I would guess around a million or so considering the Raptors basically refused to pay 2 million for a pick in the 2nd round. Regardless, if this is true and the reason Alabi dropped from mid to late first round and all it cost them was a future 2nd and cash, I think it is a pretty damn good deal. This draft didn't have the star power that we have seen in the past, but it was pretty deep. Next years class is supposed to have some star power but not as much depth as this one had. Anyways, a 2nd round pick is almost always a crapshoot anyways. If you can get a guy who was expected to go in the first round of a fairly deep draft for a future 2nd round pick, you might as well do it. The cash is not even a factor considering MLSE is one of the richest ownership groups in the NBA. I'm not normally a fan of Colangelo, but I don't think you can complain about this trade to get Alabi, even if he becomes a bust (is it even possible for the 50th overall pick to be a bust?) Flight
Hep B isn't a major threat from my knowledge, my dad was misdiagnosed with it a couple years ago and it scared us until we did some research. Not a major life changer.
