Universe
http://www.netsdaily.com/2010/6/26/1538073/the-nets-will-be-first-in-line-for Adrian Wojnarowski and Marc Stein both report that the Nets, represented by Mikhail Prokhorov, Jay-Z, Avery Johnson and the soon-to-be-retired Rod Thorn, will be the first team (or among the first teams) to meet with LeBron James on July 1st. James has decided not to tour the cities of the teams he might sign with, but rather stay home and have team representatives come to him. Wojnarowski writes that the Chicago Bulls as the favorites to land James, that the Miami Heat and Nets "are making a strong push too," and that the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers are long shots. Could he turn down a billionaire, the guy who draft Micheal Jordan, your celebrity best friend and a creepy head coach?

Warren2ThaG
Can the Nets get more then just LBJ? maybe Ray Allen too?
Flight
Can the Nets get more then just LBJ? maybe Ray Allen too?Possibly, but SG is fairly stable for the Nets. A PF would be the next area to fill after LBJ if such event happened, Favors just isn't going to be a championship team caliber starter right off the bat. Nitro
Very, very nice. I've been going to Nets games ever since I was a very little kid (got to see MJ as a Bull when I had a season tickets). As much fun as the J-Kidd era Nets were, having LBJ in town would be amazing. Definitely pulling for the Nets to some how, some way land him. Klashnekoff
I think its really only between the Nets and the Bulls to land LBJ. Miami wouldn't work for obvious reasons with Wade wanting it to be his team and his team only. The Knicks won't work as i see them not having a stable team to even consider bringing LeBron over. They need to resign David Lee first before going after anyone. They are unsure at the moment and a mess of a team. The Clippers Yeah i don't see LBJ going there at all. Not to say it would be a bad move.
