Universe
Thomas actually isn't a bad backup plan. He's 23 years old and I'd much rather sign him at a discounted price than throwing money at David Lee.
Universe
I don't know why all Net fans are freaking out. Our greatest chance to land a star was in LeBron James and we put our cards all in which is smart. Yes we could have overpaid for Boozer and Amare but we decided to stick with our plan. If LBJ says another teams tomorrow afternoon, nobody should be upset. We have money, draft picks and actual young talent. We gain a new general manager for the season so the roster could go the Boston way and trade for championship or build slowly like Thunder and Blazers. I think the Nets avoided more mistakes than they made. We could have gone after Boozer, an older player, or STAT, a player with health issues. We avoided those risks. We'll see whether trading Yi turns out to be a mistake, but for the time being, the Nets situation is far from a problem. We still have a new home. We still have a big-name owner. We still have a big-name coach. There's an incredible amount of talent just when you look at players within the first three years of their career. Along with that, health does not appear to be an issue. There aren't any sources that can confirm the Nets being out of the race for James. But even without him, this team has taken a big step forward and can continue building with other talent in free agency.
Universe
Well...here's to hoping we save the space or only use it on one year contracts. C'mon Rod, let the other GM have some peices.
Universe
Though we have like five percent chance with LeBron, the roster would be dope as hell if we got him. PG - Devin HarrisSG - Courtney LeeSF - LeBron JamesPF - Travis OutlawC - Brook Lopez Kyle KorverTerrence WilliamsDerrick FavorsDamion JamesQuinton Ross Kris Humphries Maybe with a Tyrus Thomas or resign Hayes or Boone, would be a nice roster to watch. Dash
Nets looking at Scola. The New Jersey Nets are on the verge of becoming the team with crazy cap room that got shut out from all the major free agents. If LeBron spurns them tonight, the Nets ended up losing the recruiting battle for LeBron, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire, Rudy Gay and Carlos Boozer among others. And it sounds like they're not front runners for landing David Lee. I don't think that's what new owner Mikhail Prokhorov anticipated going into the summer. With more than $30 million in cap space and all the top free agents off the market, what do they plan on doing? The first hint came Thursday morning when the team came to terms with Travis Outlaw on a 5 year, $35 million dollar deal. More is on the way. Sources say that the Nets are strongly considering making an offer to either Tyrus Thomas or Luis Scola to fill their hole at the power forward position. http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/17818/the-nets-plan-b Edited July 8, 2010 by Dash

Universe
So turns out we picked Outlaw over Kyle Korver and Josh Howard...hmmm. And we decided against Tyrus due to the fact management doesn't see a good future with him and Avery haha.
