It's a shame that the worlds most popular sport on the most popular stage needs a gimmick to end a game.

 

Penalty kicks shoot not decide a game, especially during the World Cup.

 

Hockey has them, but not during the playoffs, and fatigue should not be reason for having them or the game lasting too long either because they need to suck it up.

 

That's an absolute disgrace to all of sports. It's downright pathetic, and yet another thing that blows dick about soccer.

 

Your players skate on ice... soccer players run. And the field is 17 x bigger than a basketball court, which is bigger than ice hockey arena.

Awww man... I recorded this but the game overlapped because of the extra time and penalty... so didn't watch the shootout. Too bad Japan lost. Paraguay gonna get killed by Spain/ Portugal for sure.

Yes Hockey players also get rests, Soccer players get 3 subs and that's it
