That may still happen, but the Suns have done an excellent last-minute job of hanging onto Stoudemire's jersey so hard that he may stick around. Yahoo! Sports Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Stoudemire and his agent spent "several hours" with Suns owner Robert Sarver coach Alvin Gentry last night and "gathered momentum on a possible contract extension." Talks will get rolling again today and Stoudemire, who averaged 23.1 points and 8.9 rebounds last season, just might not bother to opt out of the contract that is set to pay him $17.6 million next season, Wojnarowski. The 27-year-old might also opt out and continue negotiations with the Suns as well as the numerous other teams that have been reported to be interested in his services, such as the New York Knicks, New Jersey Nets, and Miami Heat.---http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=ArVJRQUsyEg.aJj5z_zHLOU5nYcB?slug=ys-stoudemiresuns062910
