The Atlanta Hawks have offered free agent Joe Johnson a maximum six-year contract worth $119 million, and sources told ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard that Johnson is all but sure to accept.

The Hawks and Johnson's representatives met Thursday morning in Los Angeles. Since Johnson cannot sign until July 8, he'll give other teams the courtesy of hearing them out. But unless a team completely blows him away, Johnson will take the Hawks' offer, the sources said.

Johnson's representatives also are scheduled to meet with the New York Knicks and Miami Heat as well.

^LMAO, this is Gilbert Arenas epic. JJ is at best a 2nd option of a winning team, paying him superstar money at the peak of his career, I don't understand where management is going with this.

No one does man. They're just a bunch of clowns.

I mean we're the team who drafted Marvin Williams over Chris Paul and Deron Williams. -_-

I would let Johnson walk, especially after his last playoff performance. Offering this guy a 6 year max deal at 29 years old is no way to run a franchise. If I'm the Hawks I'm letting him go, and if that means we don't make the playoffs next season... so be it. I'd rather have some money to play with in the future.

The clowns we have running the show are satisfied with making the playoffs and getting swept in the second round. Just think, in three years or so we're not even going to even have a bench with all the money Johnson will be making.
