Official Heat Free Agency Update Thread

What the hell do you expect Morey to say? He is trying to sell his team to Bosh just like every other GM is going to try and sell their team to him and every other free agent that they are interested in. Of course he is going to say something to make his team look more appealing than competitors.

What do you want Morey to tell Bosh that he should sign in Miami and not even consider Houston? Yeah, what an assclown he is. How dare he try and sell Houston to Bosh and say something negative about the almighty Heat.

Well, saying ridiculous statements like the one quoted isn't going to help him. It's best to try and argue with something like.... i dunno... logic?

Well, sorry, but he's not. .

How would you know? Unless you got a camera on Lebron throughout this whole process. Everyone is keeping their mouths shut, you can't go out and choose a team before you finishing visiting all of them.

LeBron James: Miami's Pat Riley meets with LeBron's agent Leon Rose late Thursday night

CLEVELAND ---- Miami Heat President Pat Riley was not first but it didn't stop Riley from getting a head start the daybefore the Heat's scheduled meeting with LeBron James. The meeting takes place Friday morning at the IMG building on the corner of East 9th and St. Clair in downtown Cleveland.

The New Jersey Nets were the first team to meet with James on Thursday morning, followed by the New York Knicks. The sessions began the most anticipated free-agent period in NBA history ---- and James leads the class.

Riley leads a group that includes Managing General Partner Micky Arison and Andy Elisburg, senior vice president/assistant general manager of basketball operations. They gathered Thursday evening near the far right corner in the Ritz-Carlton Hotel lounge.

The atmosphere was casual. Riley and members of his group were barely audible from a distance of six-feet away. The discussion was certainly

about Friday's meeting with James.

When approached, Riley asked for a moment while he continued to conduct business.

Shortly after two members of Riley's party called it a night, Leon Rose, James' agent, entered the room and joined Riley and Elisburg. More than likely, Rose will participate in today's meeting with the Heat, but apparently neither side could wait.

So why the rush?

Rose and Riley talked for nearly 45 minutes. Their conversation ended around 12:20 A.M. Just before leaving, Riley would only address the Cleveland Cavaliers new coaching hire.

"I'm not surprised," said Riley, about new Cavaliers coach Byron Scott. "He's a good choice. He'll do a wonderful job."

Riley is familiar with Scott, who won three NBA titles with the Los Angeles Lakers under then coach Riley.

Except there's been numerous reports of Bosh buying a place in Miami recently. Its cool though, feel free to add something to the discussion next time.

so how did the bron meeting go?

I'm sure it went well. Riley can be very persuasive but I'm just not sure that LeBron is completely down to be a part of a big 3.

Why do you guys find it so hard to believe? We are the only team that can sign all three of them, deal with it.

Bosh is just dropping hints on his twitter like an idiot and Wade has a camera crew following him around this whole time, they are both fooling around...IMO they already made their choice, but are just taking some time to travel around and listen to other team (waste time for other teams).

In fact, Riley pitched to Amare that he has a chance to play with Wade and Lebron, so clearly, Riley has some kind of plan, we aren't run by a bunch of 3rd graders.

Ummmm, because there's not a chance that LeBron and Wade will play with each other. They both need to be the #1, even though I'm sure Wade wouldn't mind being #1b, LeBron would.

It's a fantasy, and soon enough, your fantasy will come to a crashing halt, and you will see LeBron in a Nets jersey.

Because it's unlikely as [expletive]. I'd still put my money on Lebron staying with the Cav's and Bosh going elsewhere.

Im not saying we are gonna get him, but you guys make it seem like we have nothing to offer him. Also, if you are gonna play in the NY area, don't settle for NJ, its not as nice as saying you played for NY in MSG.

I understand you don't want to see a team like this because it would make it almost unfair for almost every team in the NBA, but its a possibility and Pat Riley's number one goal. I understand some of you are in denial to make it feel better in your mind, but its a POSSIBILITY, we have the money to do it, we are the only team that can do it, so it will obviously be discussed.

Or you're in denial because it's unlikely as [expletive], and you know it.

The main thing is, I don't see LeBron and Wade playing together, and one of them deferring to the other.

It has nothing to do with the Heat becoming a dominant team because that's not happening. However, the Nets will be a dominant team, and no, I'm not mad.

It's just a fairy-tail, and the sooner you realize it, the less dissapointed you will be come next week.

I won't be disappointed at all, the only way I will be dissapointed is if Wade doesn't come back. I know Wade alone with another big name can get us a title, we don't need Lebron, but Miami would be the center of attention if they were both here, it will help Miami in terms of money, the games will be like the 2006 playoffs EVERY night, rather than people showing up late and not giving a [expletive] half the time.

We don't NEED him, but if we got him, it would be really exciting. Lebron hasn't won jack yet, so my #1 concern is that we have a backup plan in case this fails, because if it does, and we don't get a big name, Wade will be pissed.
