Dash
Tweets come from a radio host in Phoenix, apparantely he was quite reliable during the deadline. Gambo620 New developments - Houston Rockets interested in Amare Stoudemire. Would likely be a sign and trade with Luis Scola and Battier if it happens LEXthePEX sources 100% legit, but doesn't mean it will happen. Just that Rockets want in on chance. Houston called the Suns about a Scola/Battier for Amare deal in February so their interest in Amare is real. Plus Amare wants 6 yrs from Phx not 5-So unless Phx caves in to demands all it will take is max offer from Mia, NY, Chi or Houst (sign+trd) With all the rumor surrounding Chris Bosh about going to Miami, Amare is not a bad backup and imo is much more likely to obtain especially considering that he was literally one tiny physical away from becoming a Houston Rocket. Battier and Scola were exactly the same two pieces that were involved in the proposed trade with Phoenix at the deadline, interesting that they are once brought up. Maybe they really like Scola as a replacement for Amare and Battier's veteran presence is nothing to overlook, could see Houston throwing in a pick or two (Knicks?). Jammin
I'd rather get a player like Scola for Amare then nothing at all.
Owner Real Deal Posted July 1, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted July 1, 2010 Truthfully, this trade would suck for a lot of West teams, assuming Yao stays healthy all season long. A scoring post, an offensive high post, slashers and shooters? Gonna be an ugly battle to snag a top four seed.
YugoRocketsFan
Good for both teams, Amare would make us dangerous, and Suns will like Scola and Battier, Scola can finish well in transition.
Dash
Yao and Amare frontcourt would definitely be scary. High risk and high reward type move if Houston were to give him to max. A bit of an update: Rockets communicated w/ Stoudemire, others, but Bosh is top target. Met Bosh in Dallas. Have sign/trade framework. Chi, MIA do too.#hounews Jonathan Feigen (Jonathan_Feigen) on Twitter
Dash
No mention of the Knicks' picks. In their quest to land either of the top two free-agent power forwards – Chris Bosh or Amar’e Stoudemire – the Houston Rockets have been offering Trevor Ariza, Shane Battier and free agent Luis Scola in potential sign-and-trade packages, league sources said. Scola obviously would have to agree to a sign-and-trade because he’s a free agent. If the Rockets can’t get either Bosh or Stoudemire, they will push forward in negotiations to re-sign Scola.
