The Regime
Mike Miller has been offered a five-year, $30M contract by the Lakers, according to a report from Jeff Goodman. Miller expects to be recruited by LeBron James and Dwyane Wade wherever they end up. The Lakers have set a deadline of tonight to accept their offer. http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/67720/20100701/lakers_offer_mike_miller_$30m_set_deadline_to_accept/ Please sign with us, I would be [expletive]ing ecstatic. kingfish
If we got Mike Miller, wow thats a huge piece for our team. I cant imagine a Laker lineup where you cant double team anyone. Imagine putting Kobe on the floor with Fish and Miller at certain spots during the game, damn. And the best part is hes not a liability on the defensive end, hes actually a pretty good defender imo. The contract is a little scary, but at least we are going for chips now and the 5th year will almost assuredly be team option.

Nitro
Since when is Mike Miller anything but an average player? He shot over 50% from the field last year, 48% from 3, and also grabbed over 6 boards and dished out 4 assists. He's not a star player, but he's just what the doctor ordered for the Lakers bench. He can do a little bit of everything, and can shoot the lights out (even though the lights are already out at Staples). Would be a perfect fit for the Lakers. kingfish
Since when is Mike Miller anything but an average player? An average player? Lmao, do you realize we won with a team full of guys that couldnt hit a wide open shot on a kick out of a double team? You know how mad teams are gonna get when they cant double team Kobe/Pau? Owner Real Deal Posted July 2, 2010 Author Owner Report Share Posted July 2, 2010 If this goes down, I hope everyone dismisses the signing as a good move, calling it a mistake instead. Then maybe Mike Miller will prove them wrong just as Ron Artest did. The more holes we fill, the better we get. Shooting is our biggest hole to date. We get Mike Miller, and I will be more confident than I was over the last 2-3 seasons.

Nobody is dismissing it at all, Artest was a horrible signing, you could have stuck any player in as SF and they would have still won. Artest previously choked in the playoffs and always shoot under 40%, Miller is a sharpshooter though

Artest was a horrible signing? Did you even watch the playoffs? Artest made Durant a volume shooter for the whole series and Paul Pierce went from being the Finals MVP to being a role player against Ron. Ron shut him down for most of the series except for the game where Pierce went off. Artest didn't make the game winning shot in the playoffs and he also didn't make a cluch 3 with one minute to go in game 7 to put the Lakers up by 6. First off, Kingfish did you know that it breaks the guidelines to use duplicate accounts? •Duplicate accounts are not allowed. If you have a reason to make another, you can email an administrator beforehand. Why would I be bitter about a 30 year old ex-con/wife-beater/dog abuser leaving us and us getting a much younger 23 year old Ariza? I'd rather have Ariza 10 out of 10 times. I watched the playoffs, he was shooting crappy for almost the entire playoffs, his defense was good yes but you stick Shane Battier or any other decent Small Forward out there and the Lakers still win. Ron shot 34% overall vs the Thunder and averaged 8.2 ppg,vs Celtics shot right under 40% and averaged 11 ppg. He made a lucky game winner, yippee! Even if he didnt make it, Lakers go to Game 7 and annihilate the Thunder. The Lakers would have also won even without his three, i'll admit it was a good shot but he shot horribly the entire series. Derek Fisher deserves more credit for beating Boston than Ron Arrest. Edited July 2, 2010 by YugoRocketsFan
Owner Real Deal Posted July 3, 2010 Author Owner Report Share Posted July 3, 2010 Haha...Ron Artest was the best defensive player in the playoffs, hands down. It wasn't even close. Trevor would've gotten manhandled by Pierce, and Durant would've killed him. I'm SO glad we didn't keep him over Ron, and that's the honest truth. Nah, Ariza would stolen the ball in closing seconds and dunked it in Game 7 and Lakers woulda won 102-101.
The Regime
Lakers Retract Offer To Mike Miller After agreeing to terms with free-agent guard Steve Blake, the Lakers are no longer courting forward Mike Miller. "Source told FOXSports.com that the Lakers offer to Mike Miller is no longer on the table following the Steve Blake signing," Jeff Goodman wrote on his Twitter page. http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/67797/20100703/lakers_retract_offer_to_mike_miller/
Check my Stats
It isn't so much retract as it is 'we can't offer it anymore' lol. Their entire MLE is almost gone now.
