Dennis Scott: "Hawks are a leader for Shaq."

Recommended Posts

What do you guys think? I'm still 50/50 on this, but the way I see it...

Positives:

1) Horford moves back to his natural position

2) Hawks get much needed frontcourt help, Shaq's presence even at his current age makes a huge difference in the way teams attack them offensively.

3) From a management standpoint, this will put more people in the stands.

Negatives:

1) Hawks like to play up-tempo, adding Shaq will slow them down.

2) If he starts (which I'm assuming he will), Josh Smith will have to play the 3 and that could be a epic failure.

3) Injury prone.

Josh Smith playing the 3 is positive in my book, it is his natural position, he plays more like a SF and not to mention his shot has been steadily improving.

Ehh, I'm still not sold on his jumpshooting. If Shaq starts the Hawks will probably become more of a half court offense team, and I can't really see Josh Smith excelling in that situation.

Who is to say Josh Smith cant play in a half-court offense? I think he would do fine if his jumpshot keeps improving but I dont watch the Hawks that much so I wouldn't know how well he can score in a half-court offense. I believe his defense will excel though.

I'd love to see him come here. He'd attract a lot more fans and he's 1000x better than any back-up center we have. Plus, when we play a teams with guys like Howard, who rape Horford, he can come in and help out.

And Boston is the other leader? With Doc and Pierce back it's probably more like 40/60 in favor of them. If Ray Allen comes back it'll probably be 30/70.

He is very bad in the half court unless he's soaking up rebounds. He doesn't have a very good post-game and his jump shot is very bad, no doubt about it.

I'll do it for him.

He slows down teams, he hogs minutes, he isn't productive anymore no matter what the stats say and there are better uses of the MLE.

Shaq > Pachulia any day of the week.

Give me Pachulia any day of the week, at least he won't waste half the shot clock trying to score on the low block. All he does at this point in his career is take up space, when was the last time a team was better with him, compared to without him?

A hustle big man like Zaza is better than Shaq at this point, Shaq doesn't provide very much besides his name and lame tweets these days.

I guess I should've said I want an upgrade when matching up against the big boys. His size is just what we need.
