Blake is good enough. He can shoot, defend, and pass. Bell can be had for the minimum. I wouldn't be shocked to hear us trying to get someone else with the rest of our MLE. Blake is one of the toughest players in the league. That's one thing people don't about him, he wont back down from anyone. He stood up to Dwight at the end of the season, didn't hesitate, didn't back down at all. This will definitely add toughness for the Lakers. Unlike Mike Miller, Steve Blake actually fills a DRASTIC need that we've had for years now. We finally have someone we can count on to pass the ball and give touches to our bigs (besides Kobe and Walton who is always injured). I don't think people realize how big of a deal this is. Blake isn't flashy, he isn't a big name, but he will get the job done. He can shoot the ball, he can run the offense, and he is an upgrade defensively over what we had. This is an awesome signing, and not big money either. Props to Mitch for this signing. I don't think this signing sounds as good as "MIke Miller to the Lakers" but in the end, it is just as if not even more significant. Here is what Chris Mannix had to say about Blake. Lot of people think so. I don't. Average defender, never gets fouled. A backup for $4 mill RT @BQRMagic Blakes deal is actually pretty fair. Backup or not, he's still fills a dire need and can log in at the very least 20-25 minutes. He won't amaze anyone but he is still better than Fisher.
