The Knicks have been virtually eliminated from contention for LeBron James, according to a report from Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski.

James' camp categorized New York's presentation as 'lacking preparedness and organization.'

Aspects of the Nets' presentation earlier on Thursday were similar in nature to New York's and were 'sharper' and 'edgier'.

James has reservations about the possibility of his earning potential being greater in New York than in Cleveland to make up a $30M difference in salary.

Knicks Dispute They're Out Of LeBron Hunt, Suggest Ulterior Motives

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports went on the air with Michael Kay on ESPN Radio to discuss points he made in a story Wojnarowski published Friday.

In that story, Wojnarowski wrote that the Knicks had been virtually eliminated from the race to sign LeBron James and that he was unimpressed with New York's presentation to him Thursday.

Shortly after the segment with Wojnarowski, a representative of the Knicks called Kay to refute the Wojnarowski story and the claims made by his sources. Further the Knicks suggested that someone may be attempting to undermine their chances to sign James. The team insisted that its presentation to James was successful and apparently well received.

Wojnarowski also includes claims that James was turned off by Donnie Walsh's need to use a wheelchair due to a neck ailment, and that James was similarly deflated by owner James Dolan's appearance.

There have been rumblings in recent days that those closest to James are concerned about him playing for the Knicks and what implications that might hold for the power balance around the superstar. There have been some indications that Maverick Carter, James' closest friend, is opposed to a move to the Knicks.

However, the status of Wojnarowski's anonymous sources is unclear since he only generically cites "sources" but does not indicate their position in relation to James, or their particular knowledge of James' reactions to the presentations he received on Thursday.

i know you are but what am i?

Everyone knows the Knicks aren't even in contention for Lebron at this point, if you can't admit that you are as dim as all the other Knick fans.

Why is this the only thing you do? Trolling threads and pissing people off...

how exactly am i trolling?

it's not my fault people are so up tight and get pissed at my opinions...

You actually do it frequently, disrespecting a lot of members and their opinions. It's over with...there are plenty of other forums for you to post on.

And to SOME of the fans who were getting mad when he disrespected your team or fanbase, you should probably look back a year or two (and even sometimes currently) and realize how much it sucks when you did it (or do it). Aaron asked me last week if people were done trolling Lakers fans, so he could come back and post regularly. That's my administrator, having to ask me that.

AW knows his stuff so I feel bad for the Knicks...

But I still don't understand why people are saying that there's 0 chance Knicks can land LeBron... Really? This is New York, not some deserted small market. Mecca of basketball as they say. So their roster is pitiful? What, they can't improve? It's amazing people think Knicks are the newest Clippers. They were playoffs regulars in 90s. Take LeBron out of Cavs and they're essentially the Knicks... Knicks also have Gallo and Lee who keep improving. And now possibly Amare. And next season possibly Melo (fml).

I still somehow hope LeBron chooses Knicks... it'd be sick to see him rise to the challenge playing in New York. It's a true superstar mentality to seek the greatest challenge and conquer it.
