The Artesticle
If Fish leaves who do you think are some good replacements Sky? Do you think a Steve Blake/Keyon Dooling backcourt would work out? They are certainly an upgrade over Fisher/Farmar skill wise. I really won't miss Fish too much if he leaves, but one thing he brings to the table cannot be replaced, and that is leadership. In the end I think he'll be back, but it'll take some time. The Regime
According to ESPN the Lakers have submitted a second offer to Fisher, the amount hasn't been specified.
magicbalala245
Reason I'm posting it in this section is because it involves both Heat & Laker fans & I didn't want to post it in both team forums A source close to Derek Fisher said he’s confident the free-agent guard will re-sign with the Los Angeles Lakers instead of going to the Miami Heat. Fisher reportedly received a $2.5 million offer for next season from the Lakers. He has been seeking a two-year contract with a starting salary closer to the $5 million he made last season. If true you could potentially check off two people off the Heat list they wanted but they didn't land as Haslem was offered the full MLE from the Mavs which might of sealed Haslem future with the Heat. Gorilla Dog
Free-agent guard Derek Fisher(notes) spent some time considering an offer to join Dwyane Wade(notes), LeBron James(notes) and Chris Bosh(notes) with the Miami Heat, but Yahoo! Sports' Marc J. Spears reports that Fisher is going to remain with the Los Angeles Lakers, where he's spent all but three of his 13 seasons in the league. Spears reports that Fisher got a $2.5 million offer from L.A. He had been wanting a two-year offer that would make him around what he got last year: $5 million annually. Due to the Heat's recent overstuffing of the salary, they would only be able to give Fisher the veteran's minimum. Looks like he's not willing to give up the dough to go play with Bosh, James and Wade. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/rumors/post/Derek-Fisher-saying-no-to-Heat?urn=nba,255331

magicbalala245
Stick it to em Fish. Two potential key FA probably not going to Miami as Fisher will be back and Haslem offered the full MLE from the Mavs will be hard to turn down. Legacy
Hell yeah. You tell em Fish. Lol, you were just saying how you wanted them to get Fisher so every point guard can destroy him.
The Artesticle
We all knew he wasn't going anywhere and that Miami wasn't going to offer him much. Thanks for wasting our time Fish. I hope a contract gets done soon and this doesn't drag on. If we give him more than 2 years I'll shoot myself.
kingfish
Lol, you were just saying how you wanted them to get Fisher so every point guard can destroy him.I didnt "want" them to get him. I was hoping he would reject them though, and show some Laker pride. He aint gotta be like LBJ and leave the city that loves him. Even if he is a poor defender. kingfish
A lot of Laker fans don't like Fish very much. Not true. People notice the clutch shots and how hes a leader, hes definitely very loved in LA. Its fans on here and laker boards that dont really like his defense, but even then they still respect what hes done for the org.
Vitasoy
Three year deal with the Lakers. The Lakers have won two straight titles and five in Fisher's tenure with the team. He gets a three-year deal to return, with a player option on the final year. Monetary terms were not immediately available. http://sports.espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/news/story?id=5374270
magicbalala245
Derek Fisher has decided to stay with the Los Angeles Lakers. Credit Kobe Bryant with the assist. "I have decided to continue with Kobe, continue with our teammates and the fans of Los Angeles," Fisher said in a statement. "While this may not be the most lucrative contract I've been offered this offseason, it is the most valuable. I am confident I will continue to lead this team on and off the court. Let the hunt for six begin." The Lakers have won two straight titles and five in Fisher's tenure with the team. He gets a three-year deal to return, with a player option on the final year. Monetary terms were not immediately available. The Lakers were waiting for the deal to be completed before announcing anything. "Nothing is signed yet," Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said. "We're in continuous dialogue with [Fisher's] representative and we hope to announce something soon."

The Artesticle
THREE YEARS WTF... he'll probably be in a wheel chair by year three. But better than letting him go to Miami and telling them all our secrets I guess. Better not be more than 3 yrs 9 mill
