Bulls pitch to LeBron

He has his own shoe, he doesn't need to fill MJs

That ploy was brilliant though. LeBron has a HUGE ego and challenging it like that, although possibly a huge mistake could end up being brilliant in terms of getting him because he'll want to take that challenge.

The Bulls have really swung for the fences in the past 2 days, let's see how it turn out.

Here's some of what they said to him:

Chicago is daring LeBron James to play for the Bulls

"LeBron, the fans of Chicago have a question for you," reads the two-page ad that ran in Thursday's Akron Beacon Journal, James' hometown paper. "Can you cast a shadow this big?"

The image is of an outline that looks a lot like Michael Jordan's, in the iconic, ball-in-one-hand pose, spread out over the Chicago cityscape. Dreamed up by sports-loving ad guys at the city's Leo Burnett agency and paid for by Burnett, it was the culmination of a four-day campaign featuring a fresh challenge each day. [...]

So Monday, they sent to his house the classic red, white and black Air Jordans and asked if he could fill those shoes. Tuesday it was a case featuring seven empty ring boxes, representing one more championship than Jordan won here, and the question, "Can you fill these boxes?"

Wednesday was a mock-up of a Chicago Tribune 10 years hence - still going strong, by the way - and the headline "Sweet Throne, Chicago: With Title No. 7, It's Officially King James' Court."

Real clever approach to this, it may just sell LBJ into coming to Chicago.

But I actually like Cleveland's pitch better, and the fanbase is supporting him greatly with the parades, gathering outside the building, etc. They were telling him how winning a ring in your hometown is the best feeling in the world, and they have a coach who has done exactly that.

Pretty clever, he should get a kick out of it. Probably will stroke his ego, I just hope Chicago knows what they are doing...

Yeah, its gonna come down to how well he took that. Pretty big risk for Chicago.

I still think winning the first title in almost 50 years for the city of Cleveland would be the best moment that could happen for LeBron. Not only because of that feat, but because of all the possible stars that could do it, it's a guy who was born in Akron. He can surpass Jordan here by creating a bigger legacy.

No he can't and no he won't. The rest of that roster has proven to be pure crap come playoff time the last 2 seasons. Not only that, but they don't have enough to make any moves for anyone. He'd be smart to gtfo while he can.

The Cavs have a very deep roster that is capable of doing a sign-and-trade deal that would provide close to $30 million in additional salary for Bosh, etc.. which is beyond what they could get on the open market.

The only piece anyone would want is JJ Hickson...

Blazers have showed interest in Mo. Delonte's expiring gives 4 mill. off the books for who takes him. Parker, Moon are solid vets who can be role players for a team in rebuilding, Telfair, another contract coming off the books with 2.5 mill. around. He can be a project and start for rebuilding teams to see if something is there. And you know any team would love to have Verajao.

I'm not saying there is one person you can give away solely. The point is, with the right combination of players, a trade can be made. Look at how we got Mo, Shaq, Jamison, etc...you wouldn't think they could be had for as little as that.
