xx.
Brendan Haywood is reportedly the subject of trade discussions between the Mavericks and Heat. Miami would send free-agent big man Jermaine O'Neal or Michael Beasley — or both — to acquire Haywood. The Heat also has interest in Rodrigue Beaubois or J.J. Barea from Dallas. Owner Real Deal Posted July 6, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted July 6, 2010 I don't see how this will be attractive to any free agents. How about just giving Beasley the chance he needs to play better?

Cleveland's Finest
This is because Bosh won't play center. He wants to play power forward, and getting Haywood would move him to the 4.
Doc
damn this would be an amazing pick up for the heat.
Poe
Haywood for JO would be fantastic. For Beasley? That's just dumb.
Built Ford Tough
Heat new lineup: PG: Calderon/ChalmersSG: WadeSF: ???PF: BoshC: Haywood/Anthony Go out and get a defensive minded shooter like a prime James Posey and use whatever cap space you have left to fill out the roster. If you are getting Bosh, which will most likely happen like expected all along, there is no point in keeping Beasley on the team. His future in the NBA seems to be a stretch 4 and I think putting him at the 3 would just be a waste. Beasley clearly has more talent than Haywood but Haywood is an ideal fit on a team like this. Chalmers and Calderon is a nice compliment of offense and defense from the point. Wade's help defense should compensate a bit for Calderon's lack of defense as well. I still don't think this is a championship team, but they could make some noise in the East if they are able to convince some good players to take paycuts to play alongside the Wade/Bosh duo. EDIT: On second thought, Chalmers would probably be involved int he S&T, so scratch him off of the rotation. I'd imagine it would be Chalmers + Toronto's pick + Miami's pick and a huge TPE. Poe
Let's just say Calderon is not a player that attracts Riley's attention, lol. No way would the Heat trade for him, unless they plan to involve him in another trade.
Flash
If we can end up with a roster somewhat like this opening night I'll be beyond happy: PG: Randy Foye/Carlos ArroyoSG: Wade/T-MacSF: Q/DorellPF: Bosh/UdonisC: Haywood/Anthony
Built Ford Tough
Let's just say Calderon is not a player that attracts Riley's attention, lol. No way would the Heat trade for him, unless they plan to involve him in another trade. Ric Bucher (not exactly the most credible source, I know) has reported a deal of Chalmers + TPE + 2 picks for Calderon and Bosh. I know that Calderon isn't exactly a Riley style of player, but considering Colangelo's reluctance to agree to a S&T with the Heat, I can see him insisting that the only way he will agree to a S&T with Miami is if they take Calderon back in the trade, and if Riley wants Bosh he may not have much of a choice otherwise. I can definitely see a scenario unfolding where Colangelo tells Riley that the only way he will send Bosh to Miami through a S&T is if Calderon goes with him, and with Bosh's insistance on getting the 6 year max above all else and Amare signing in New York and LeBron not going to go to Miami, it would either be Riley giving in or pairing Wade with David Lee or Carlos Boozer which I don't think Wade would be all that impressed with considering the talk before free agency was supposed to be about building a dynasty in Miami. A Boozer or Lee/Wade duo isn't exactly the makings of a dynasty (neither is Bosh/Wade but it is a much better start than Boozer or Lee). I could be wrong though and Riley would tell Colangelo to shove it, but I can definitely see Colangelo only agreeing to a S&T with Miami if he can dump Calderon's contract on them. If a package of Chalmers + draft picks + TPE was enough to get Bosh to Miami, don't you think he would be in Miami already? It seems to be pretty obvious that Wade and Bosh is a package duo and I think it is pretty obvious that Wade's first choice is Miami. At least that is the way that I look at it. Except he didn't say that. @RicBucher Twitter brevity raises its dangerous head once again. There is no trade between Mia + Tor. Sorry for anyconfusion/raised blood pressure. He can hit the open 3, doesn't command the ball and will hit FT's. Anyone who comes here will become a better defender, its just how things are so he can improve defensively. I would to that trade in a heartbeat, although I still prefer Foye to anybody we can sign at the PG spot.

There is no trade between Mia + Tor. Sorry for anyconfusion/raised blood pressure. Umm, yeah he did: Not sure where the idea Tor won't S&T w/Mia came from, but it's not true. Calderon/Bosh for Chalmers, 2 future 1sts + trade exception: done. You even posted it in that Free Agency thread in the Heat forum, but of course you won't acknowledge that he said that in this thread. Hmm... I wonder why that is? xx.
Looks like Mikhail is right, the only reason for this trade would be for Bosh to strictly play the 4 and have Haywood strictly play the 5.

And Calderon doesn't play D because he doesn't want to, but because he's incapable.
