The Goods
Trade talk between the Heat and Jazz over power forward Carlos Boozer is increasing, according to the Deseret News. Dwyane Wade is to a degree lobbying for Miami to make a trade for his Olympic teammate. OldChili
I wonder who'll they be forced to give up in the trade if it does happen.
Flash
If Wade really wanted Boozer then he'd just wait until next summer to get him as a FA because Boozer would come no questions asked if we offered. I doubt we'll give up Beasley to get him seeing that we didn't give up Beasley to get Amare.
SRV
Riley already offered Wade an extension, if we get Boozer, it might show him we are really trying to help him. Plus, if we keep Chicago from getting Boozer, there will be no other team that can pay Wade what he deserves in the 2010 FA period. Flash
Weren't you guys prepared to give up Beasley for the 2nd pick? Never heard that rumor. I just don't see what they'd want other than Beasley though. It will most likely be JO who gets dealt because of his massive expiring contract along with Cook/Haslem? That takes a lot of our depth but a shot at Boozer would be big. We'd also need to retain Moon and use our MLE on a PF.
Flash
Per Marc Stein: No concrete evidence has materialized -- yet -- that the Heat are preparing to send Udonis Haslem's expiring contract to Utah for the expiring contract of Carlos Boozer. But one trade scenario, presented online Monday by David Aldridge of TNT and NBA.com, would appear to have some promise for the Jazz, who long to find a way to move Boozer and take back less money, which generally requires the involvement of a third team.Trading Haslem and James Jones to the Jazz would allow Miami to give Boozer a one-season test drive without endangering its 2010 salary-cap space and conceivably help Utah out by fitting C.J. Miles into its $4.3 million trade exception in exchange for a future draft pick in another transaction. It's also true that the Jazz have until February to find a new trade home for Boozer before the luxury-tax implications of matching Portland's offer sheet to Paul Millsap start setting in. Which means they don't have to rush and make the first Boozer trade they can complete. ESPN As tough as it is to see the 305 guys leave I'm sure Haslem will be back once his deal expires.
