Mario Chalmers - can he have a "Rajon Rondo" career?

Recommended Posts

When Boston landed KG and Ray to create their Big 3, Rondo became from a career role player to an All Star.

Now we have the new Big 3 in Miami...

Let's discuss:

1.) Do you guys see Chalmers elevate his game like Rondo did... playing with 3 All Stars where you can just throw the ball up, pass left and right and you make good decisions... is definitely easier than playing with 1 All Star.

2.) If Chalmers successfully elevates his game to a next level, will this be proof than without Big 3 in Boston, Rajon would have been just ordinary instead of All Star?

Face it guys, if you're the PG, and you have average, role-player-ish, scrub-ish skill (by NBA standard)... won't your confidence grow when anything you pass is converted to a +1 in your assist stat column? By end of every game you have 7-8 assists every game, this would boost confidence.

Suddenly you're faster, suddenly you're quicker, suddenly you're sharper and smarter...

And we know the game of basketball is about 60-70% confidence or even more and less to skill.

If Chalmers can't at least improve his game playing with the Big 3, I think it's a testament to his game mentality/ approach.

If he isn't traded first...Pretty sure he'll be dealt soon.

This. Even if he isn't being dealt, some vet like Alston or Ridnour would probably get signed to the minimum and take his spot.
