Does the LeBron signing give Durant the MVP?

It gives Durant a higher chance of winning, but as Kirby mentioned above, there are still guys like CP3, Kobe and Melo in the running that are all quality players and doesn't mean he will win it. I am sure the defence would tighten up on Durant now, maybe foul him a lot more considering how good he was last season.

Well yeah, if LA wins 60 games and Kobe averages his high 20s points, who's to say Durant's 30 a game is worth more? Or what if Paul is healthy and averages 24 and 12, and 2.5 steals or whatever? He was arguably the MVP the year Kobe won his, tell me he isn't more valuable than Durant. Melo can do his thing and average 30 while Denver wins 50-some games.

Lots of guys can win it. Hell maybe Dwyane gets injured again and LeBron still averages 30 8 and 8.

I don't know, I could see the Thunder going through sort of a "sophomore slump" at the beginning of next season, hurting their overall W-L to the point where Kobe would scoop up another MVP. Also wouldn't be surprised if LeBron averaged a near triple-double, Heat win 60+ and the media rides him to a 3rd MVP.
