AboveLegit
Title is self explanatory... Durant has the perfect opportunity to become a MVP in 2011, hell, I can see him winning two or three in a row with the way the Thunder are built. Thoughts? Flight
Guys like Chris Paul, Carmelo, and Kobe are still in the running right? Sure, LeBron having Wade and Bosh take touches away from him will hurt his stats, but you never know.
Lkr
If the Thunder get better than the 8th seed, then yeah
Newman
It gives Durant a higher chance of winning, but as Kirby mentioned above, there are still guys like CP3, Kobe and Melo in the running that are all quality players and doesn't mean he will win it. I am sure the defence would tighten up on Durant now, maybe foul him a lot more considering how good he was last season.
kingfish
Its Kobe's to lose, Lakers will get the number 1 seed in West most likely. Hel get his usual 28-30. Flame away.
Gorilla Dog
Kobe is the favorite especially if the Lakers have the best record in the NBA.
Flight
Well yeah, if LA wins 60 games and Kobe averages his high 20s points, who's to say Durant's 30 a game is worth more? Or what if Paul is healthy and averages 24 and 12, and 2.5 steals or whatever? He was arguably the MVP the year Kobe won his, tell me he isn't more valuable than Durant. Melo can do his thing and average 30 while Denver wins 50-some games. Lots of guys can win it. Hell maybe Dwyane gets injured again and LeBron still averages 30 8 and 8. CaliCurbStomppa
It an open race to anybody now with the signing of Bron to Heat..
Flash
If LeBron plays PG here, which I expect he will ala Magic...He'll get a triple double and win MVP.
YugoRocketsFan
Kobe will win it, because hes God and will average 150 ppg. Definitely Durant, its his turn to win one, Kobe wont win unless Lakers win 65+
xx.
He deserved it last season, he will definitely get it this season.
Nitro
I don't know, I could see the Thunder going through sort of a "sophomore slump" at the beginning of next season, hurting their overall W-L to the point where Kobe would scoop up another MVP. Also wouldn't be surprised if LeBron averaged a near triple-double, Heat win 60+ and the media rides him to a 3rd MVP.
Cobb
If not Durant, then Kobe for sure.
JWaLL
Dwyane Wade has a better chance to win it over Lebron. But yeah, it'll be primarily between Durant, Kobe, and CP3.
AllenIverson#1fan
It will elither take away touches from Wade, LeBron, and Bosh or it would take them away from the rest of the team. Which is why they should sign players who do other stuff but score. Edited July 9, 2010 by AllenIverson#1fan
AllenIverson#1fan
I think the points would be: LeBron averages about 27PPG, Wade about 23 or 24 PPG, and Bosh about 17 PPG.
