Built Ford Tough
WojYahooNBA Tyrus Thomas has reached agreement on 5-year, $40 million contract to stay with Charlotte, league sources say. And the overpaid big man streak continues... FYI: The Nets signed Thomas to an offer sheet but the Bobcats matched it almost immeidately, so I guess the balm can be placed on the Nets and not the Bobcats for this overpayment. Owner Real Deal Posted July 9, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted July 9, 2010 Good signing, player-wise. Bad signing, money-wise. These teams that are far under the cap...they are ruining things. Free agents go out and see Travis Outlaw get paid the kind of money he does, and they think they should get the same or more. In this case, the Nets were willing to overpay again, and the Bobcats wanted Tyrus so badly (because he's a part of their defense, which is top five in the league), that they went ahead and did what they could to snatch him out of that offer sheet. And it won't stop. I'm sure this will continue. There are more free agents out there than most realize, all looking to get paid.
Universe
I don't think the Nets put an offer in an offer for Tyrus...least that's whats coming out of the New Jersey end.
Riot
Man with all these offers, I'm scared to see what Redick is offered.
