AL Or NL First-Basmen

this is pretty stupid. a top 10 first basemen thread would be much better. who cares which league has better, its just a generalization and means nothing

It's actually not dumb at all because it is a good question.

I guess asking which league has the better pitchers is a dumb question as well, or is it dumb because the best pitchers are in the AL?

Pujols, Howard, Prince, Helton, Gonzalez, Johnson, Lee, Berkman.

I think the NL is better.

Kevin Youklilis, Mark Texeria, Justin Morneau, Aubrey Huff, Carlos Pena, Paul Konerko, Miguel Cabrera, Russel Branyan, and Hank Blalock.

When I first thought about this question I was thinking NL was better because of Albert Pujols, but after looking at all of the First-Basemen in the AL, I actually don't think it's really close.

I forgot how good Paul Konerko and Russel Branyan have been playing.

what??

it is a stupid question too. if you want to compare all-star teams then that is fine but comparing all the players in a league to the other league is pretty much pointless. which team has the best pitching staff, or the top 10 pitchers, or something that is much easier to compare and is a more useful comparison. it really doesnt matter which league has better players at a position

You also probably forgot how good guys like Todd Helton and James Loney have been playing. All things considered it is the NL IMO AL first basemen are a bit better defenders but NL first basemen are just too beast.

Yeah this is a good thread/question. Stop criticizing ECN man, if u dont like it just get out. Ill have to make a list before I make my choice, too hard to tell off the top of my head

AL

Teix

Youk

Pena

Cabrera

Morneau

Branyan

Konerko

Morales

NL

Pujols

AGon

Prince

Howard

Reynolds

Helton

Berkman

Lee

Loney

Tough choice, overall the NL has a deeper list of good first basemen. But, if you had to randomly select one of the first basemen from either league on your team id take the AL. Their first basemen are great home run hitters but also can hit for good averages and not strike out, where as in the NL you have guys like Prince, Gonzalez, and Howard and Reynolds who set strike out records. AL has better first basemen. With 3 world series champions on the AL side, and only 2 on the NL side. Not to mention defense, which the AL takes that one easily at a very important position in first base.
