SRV
I got the E74 error out of nowhere. Once second I was playing FIFA, then I switched to MW2, and BOOM, e74. I have to get it repaired, anyone know how long it takes? I honestly hope they send me the new xbox out of pity lol
Cobb
When did you buy your Xbox?
JWaLL
Takes a few weeks, I got the same error. They ended up just sending me another xbox after like 2 1/2 weeks.
reno
I'm not too sure, I remember it took about 2-3 weeks for me to get a new 360 when I had the red rings of death. They usually send you a refurbished unit.

The Regime
Yeah just ship it to Microsoft and they'll repair it for free. They shipped us a new one in two weeks.
SRV
When did you buy your Xbox?I bought it in October of 2007...my warranty ran out already, but thankfully they extend the warranty to 3 years if you get E74. If not I would have had to pay $100 to repair it. I hope they send me a new one or they fix this one, I don't want a used xbox that will break down a few weeks later. Plus my Xbox is old, they should send me a new one just incase it screws up down the road. Edited July 12, 2010 by SRV

SRV
Xbox support is so damn picky about how you send this. I seriously had to go buy bubble wrap for this. I swear if they send me a [expletive]tier xbox than the one I sent them, I will be pissed. I also heard they could screw up your game saves and gamertag. SRV
My xbox had been very good to me until this....and no one knows what causes this error, so if I knew, I might have been able to prevent it. It gave me almost 3 years of no problems.
Dr. Feelgood
Mine gave me about 2 in a half good years before it got that same error. I sent it in, got a refurb'd one and haven't had a problem since. As for sending it in, you don't send in your hard drive at all, you disconnect that so it wont effect your game saves at all nor will it mess with your gamertag. If you downloaded content for games, that's easy to get back. Once you get your new XBOX (or refurb'd one), put in your hard drive, you have to go to some website to make some sort of transfer or something (a piece of paper should tell you how to do that when you get it) and then sign onto your XBOX Live game tag. Then go to your download history and download all of your content again (which should be free since you already purchased it). So it shouldn't mess anything up. If you have any questions, just ask as I recently went through this about a year ago.
SRV
Yea, I kept my hard drive. Re-downloading things will take forever, I have about 50+ rock band songs I purchased along with arcade games and map packs and stuff. Now that I look at it, I put way too much money into my xbox lol
Dr. Feelgood
Only 50+ Rock Band songs? Dude, when this happened to me, I had 175+ Rock Band songs (now over 300 songs but in a 3-4 year span, so 20 bucks here, 20 bucks there, 10 here, lol). SRV
My xbox is already in Mississippi and it needs to get to Texas, only took like a day to get to Mississippi.
SRV
This really bothers me. The package is supposed to go to Mesquite, Texas, and its in Dallas, Texas right now. Mesquite is literally like a few minutes away from Dallas and they never got the package there. It has been in Dallas since 2:22 PM Friday and they don't move anything over the weekend, why couldn't they just drive it to Mesquite instead of Dallas Also, it got there at 2:22 and they couldn't bother to drive to Mesquite and leave it there, what time does UPS stop driving packages around? Dr. Feelgood
You have nothing to worry about man. It's just the way UPS does things. I ship packages out every day and track them. It's just a process.
SRV
I am gonna punch these guys in the face. It has been in the "repair in progress" step for 3 days. I don't know if its really in progress or not, but don't get my hopes up by saying its being repaired when its really just sitting there.
