The Regime
According to ESPN: Veteran free-agent forward Raja Bell refuted an Internet story that reported the 33-year-old rejected a contract offer by the Lakers. "I have not expressed any disinterest in joining the Lakers," Bell told ESPNLosAngeles.com in a phone interview Friday. "I have not been extended an offer that I could have rejected. They are one of several teams I am in contact with." Bell said he has received several phone calls from former nemesis Kobe Bryant recruiting his services for next season. http://sports.espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/news/story?id=5369067&campaign=rss&source=NBAHeadlines
YugoRocketsFan
imagine the conversation Kobe: Hey man join the Lakers so i can get revenge for you clotheslining me in practice. Bell: No problem man!
Owner Real Deal Posted July 13, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted July 13, 2010 Well, rumor was that Bell had already stated he wanted to go to Miami, and the offer was there. Kobe is meeting with him today.
The Artesticle
Yeah they are meeting face to face today. Hopefully something gets done but I'm pretty sure he's going to Miami. He's wanted to go there all along even before the Lebron/Wade/Bosh trio formed, so can't blame him. If we lose Raja I'm hoping we can snatch up Matt Barnes. If that doesn't happen, I hope we give Shannon another shot, I wouldn't mind him coming back if all other options fail. I'm a bit skeptical on Raja because of his injuries and age, not really sure how much he has left in the tank though... The Artesticle
Meh I'd rather pick up Bruce Bowen or Chris Childs.

Owner Real Deal Posted July 13, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted July 13, 2010 Big upgrade over Brown.Understatement of the year. PG. Fisher, BlakeSG. Kobe, SashaSF. Ron, Bell, Walton, EbanksPF. Pau, OdomC. Bynum, CaracterHopefully, Ebanks gets more playing time than Walton by the end of the season (especially with Walton looking more and more like the old version of his dad out there), and Blake starts over Fisher by...February. Hopefully. But you know Phil.
Gorilla Dog
Bell and Thomas will make a decision soon about joining the Lakers. The Lakers can be 10 deep if they sign Bell and Thomas. Lakers right now are the favorites to sign Bell and Thomas. Blake > Farmar. Bell > Brown. Ebanks and Caracter > Morrison and Banks. Thomas > MBenga. PG. Fisher, BlakeSG. Kobe, SashaSF. Artest, Bell, Luke, EbanksPF. Gasol, Odom, CaracterC. Bynum, Thomas The Lakers pretty much upgraded the whole bench if they do sign Bell and Thomas. I know Jazz fans might not want to hear it, but Kobe and I are actually on pretty good terms."@STEIN_LINE_HQ

Owner Real Deal Posted July 16, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted July 16, 2010 I wonder what his situation is.Whatever the situation, it definitely requires money. I don't see why Raja would go to Utah, no matter his history with Sloan, their needs at the two, or the location. It was 100% about the money. kingfish
Thats what you think Raja. Kobe does not forgive and forget. Ura dead man Raja.
*Swish*
Too bad Raja Bell signed with the Jazz he would be a great fit in the Lakers system and would be a good help off the bench. He could light up from the 3point range which will make the Lakers a way better three point shooting team. Now, the next good option is Tracy
