It was a wedding toast heard from Broadway to Bourbon Street.

During Carmelo Anthony's wedding Saturday night at Cipriani's on 42nd Street, Chris Paul, the superstar New Orleans point guard, predicted a future Knicks Dream Team.

Take that, LeCon.

According to a person who spoke with wedding attendee Amar'e Stoudemire, Paul made the reference during a speech of a potential union of himself, Stoudemire and Anthony, saying, "We'll form our own Big 3," Paul allegedly said.

Well this is good and bad.

The bad: This is just the beginning of a new era where superstars will all be taking paycuts to form a dominant team.

The good: This makes another team that could likely take down the narcissistic Lebron and the Heat.

I hope this does not happen, if the nba turns out where players are no longer loyal to their fans, and just want to team up with their buddy's, im going to stop watching the nba.

I completely agree with this. I see this as a sad beginning to a new era of stacked team and a loss of loyalty to the fans who watch them play.

i really don't see why you guys are getting angry and butthurt saying you won't watch the NBA anymore. i mean, you know good and damn well if you were ever in the NBA and you had buddies that were good you would want to team up with them and try for a championship instead of "staying loyal" to some team that could care less about what you really want and just like the money they are getting off selling your jersey. think about it guys before you start saying irrelevant things.

Damn, this would be a deadly trio, but they'd be better with Deron Williams instead of CP3.

Also, why is everyone [expletive]ing about players teaming up to WINNNNNN? You are the people that probably always [expletive] that all NBA players want is a pay-check, and now that they are teaming up, you are mad. . The Celtics are aging and will be toast with their current team soon, and I won't be [expletive]ing about watching the other trios try and win championships.

All of you probably though that the Heat trio would be a great idea before it actually happened, and now that it has, people are nervous that their own teams won't stand a chance. I really have no problem with this, and I think it will actually help the league.

lol @ SRV, Melo was born in NY and grew up in Baltimore. Not even close to Lebron... He also likely wouldn't hold an hour special in doing it

Yea, but unlike Lebron, he is straight up telling the Nuggets he doesn't want to play for them, and he is going to leave them next year and there is nothing they can do about it.

Coward move if you ask me.

Coward move? Lol at least he isn't building up the emotions of the fans for a huge let down. Melo is doing it the right way if you seriously want out IMO, rip it off like band aid, get it done quick. The way Amar'e did it, you don't see Suns fans freaking out because he left, because he didn't build up their emotions, Boozer the same, Bosh the same (only he took it the wrong way)

Coward move is calling yourself king and believing your the best player in the NBA because you realize you can't win a ring with your own team. Without 3 studs.

Exactly...same thing you were doing. Then followd by, u mad? Which has nothing to do with situation at hand.

Either way, it would revive the Heat vs. Knicks rivalry, and I would like to see it. I prefer these mega teams, it makes games much more exciting, and makes regular season games feel like the NBA finals.

It's not at all the same thing. I genuinely feel Lebron is a coward. You're just catching feelings and carrying old arguments into new threads. Get over it.

Lebron and Melo's situations could not be more different (if he hypothetically left), and you know it.

The ONLY way people wouldn't be mad at LeBron is if he stayed in Cleveland and won at least five Championships, and he'd stll be criticized by many people.

-If he goes to New York, you'd say he's all about money and doesn't care about winning.

- If he goes to Miami, you'd say he can't win anything on his own(even though no player in NBA history has), and needed D-Wade to help carry him.

-If he stays in Cleveland an doesn't win any Championships, you'd say he was stupid to stay there and that there is no point in loyalty if you know your team can't win.

-If he stays in Cleveland and wins 5+ rings, you'd say that he was too afraid to handle the big lights in New york, and missed out on hundreds of millions of dollars.

He just can't win in this situation because many of you are retarded.

If he said New York instead of South Beach I am sure your feelings would be dramatically different.

Anyways, the NBA needs a hard cap asap.

Because he would be criticized for going to money as opposed to joining a team with 2 superstars so he doesn't have to carry the load on his shoulders anymore. If I were an NBA superstar I'd rather be criticized for the first one.

I would rather not carry the load and then bank off the endorsements I will get off the court. Its not like Lebron turned into an almighty scrub because he is on a good team, if anything, it will lessen his scoring by a few points and show off his passing more.

 You and I both know that wasn't his ambition when deciding on the Heat.
