Guest STL10
Super Team=3 or more stars/superstars Now that I cleared that up... 2008 featured Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, and KG.2010 featured Ron Artest, Kobe Bryant, and Pau Gasol.2011 will bring us LeBron, Wade, and Bosh.2012 may bring us Amar'e, CP3, and Carmelo together. Will this decade be of dream or super teams?
fish7718
I don't know if I consider Artest more of that big 3 than Bynum or Odom tbh but yes we def are we could have avoided had LeWimp Wade and Bosh not done this, if they spread their talent out we could have a lot of good teams with a chance now there are 2-3 great teams with a chance and thats it. I guess we also have to blame the Lakers for this for becoming so good that this is the only way to beat them. kingfish
As long as they dont get some quality role players around them, make all the dream teams you want. It cant beat a well balanced team.

Clutch
if 9 of the last 12 trophies have been won by 2 teams, i dont think is such a bad thing
Universe
Depends how the Heat do. I really hope not because then it's more salary cap trades rather than just watching players grow on their teams.
Check my Stats
The NBA needs a hard cap right now, see if these dudes are serious about taking CONSIDERABLY less money to play together. Anyways, the C's weren't really a dream team at the point they were formed (at least compared to the Heat), they were all entering the tail end of their primes, while the Heat (and potentially Knicks) are all in the prime of their careers. Lakers would need to add a top 20 NBA player to Kobe and Pau to even be in the 'dream team' discussion to me. Hopefully this doesn't happen though, a hard cap would be awesome, would be nice to see all the teams be on a level playing field financially. JWaLL
It's not a dream team until they've accomplished something together.

Owner Real Deal Posted July 13, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted July 13, 2010 The difference is, the Lakers have a superstar, and all-star, and a star as their big three. Teams stacking up three superstars, or two superstars and a starting all-star...just not the same. Los Angeles is home to a dominant team. Apples, oranges. Teams stacking up three superstars, or two superstars and a starting all-star...just not the same. Los Angeles is home to a dominant team. Apples, oranges. Right. It's hard to compare a well put together core vs a mash up of all stars. But i'd compare this Miami team more to DrJ and Moses Malone in Philly. Both were at their prime when they were brought together and both were super stars. Even Bobby Jones can be compared to Bosh because they were both all stars. The only difference is that this Miami team has been brought together at a much younger age. And interesting enough, there was an article out comparing Lebron to Dr J. So this Dream Team idea isn't new.

Gorilla Dog
Magic, KAJ, and Worthy beats any of those teams. Since when is Pau Gasol a superstar and Ron a star? Pau is an all star and Ron is a role player. LA only has one superstar (Kobe), an all star, and good role players.

Multi-Billionaire
These are not necessarily for "super" stars right? If you're fine with Ginobili and Parker when they ain't superstars, these guys below should be fine too - Arenas (dropped 60 on Lakers cmon now), - Rose (all star, everyone in Chicago is ready to give him the key to city)- Boozer (all star) - Mashburn (all star) - Jackson (all star)- Noah (all star next year)- Favors (will be one of the top 3 PFs in the L in 2 years)- Harris (all star)- KMart (all star)- Butler (all star)- Jamison (all star) http://humanprovince.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/simpsons_nelson_haha2uwr.jpg HAHAw Edited July 15, 2010 by Snake

If you're fine with Ginobili and Parker when they ain't superstars...But Duncan is. The trios you listed that I didn't bold...none of them had legit superstars. None of those have/had this "Dream Team" potential. You can't have a legit Dream Team without at least one superstar, or 3-4 all-stars.
