Universe
Nets currently have plenty of guards in Morrow, Williams, Ross, Lee while they still are missing a power forward to start. Outlaw has stated he was told he'd be the starting three and James had a decent enough summer league where I could see him earning a lot of minutes at the three as well. It will be an interesting couple weeks as Rod Thorn is out in two days then the new guy can fiddle with the rest of the roster.
Owner Real Deal Posted July 13, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted July 13, 2010 while they still are missing a power forward to start. Favors? I'm sure they intend on him starting. And I don't know if the Nets still have Humphries, but if so, I think Jersey liked the way he was playing near the end of the season, so I wouldn't be surprised if they gave him a few minutes behind Favors. I just looked up and saw Morrow played most of his time at the three so maybe they'll start off with Harris-Lee-Morrow-Outlaw-Lopez. A lot better than last year IMO. Well, I hope not starting Favors ends up being a good idea. Some rookies wouldn't swallow that too well (Cousins would be a perfect example). I actually think that, by January, Favors will be moved into the starting five, if not by the time the season stars in November. Could be wrong, for sure...I really can't get a grip on what the Nets want to do this season.

I don't exactly agree with it. Outlaw is flexible and can play the 4, and Humphries is there to play some minutes as well. That should be enough padding around Favors as he improves (and that is IF he really needs a couple years to develop).
Multi-Billionaire
Favors will be fine. Dude is too good not to be able to at least rebound... When Dwight entered the L, he tried to do one thing well and consistent: rebounding. I think when you're the coach, Avery will see he has tremendous ability to rebound and will tell him to rebound... his primary role. Keep doing it well and keep the starting job. Everything else like scoring and chemistry with other teammates will come and he will be told not to worry about those but rebounding. Favors will be more than just good... he will be special. In fact, he could be a reason why Melo could join Nets ... this kid is special I like him. All Star by 2nd year.
