Population control?

With the population constantly growing, it will probably become a problem at some point.

 

Should the world somehow find ways to control the population? I dont mean abortion, genocide or cutting the price of condoms, but more like placing taxes on people who have more than 3 kids, China has already enforced the one-child law for example.

You mean should they find more ways other than cigarettes and AIDS? There are a lot of population control methods out there if you think about it. They just have fancy names. I do believe however, that it should illegal for a lot of people to have kids. Particularly parents that go in and out of prison with kids on the outside doing as they please. Or parents that purposely have kids for the sake of more assistance. I don't knock China at all, but you know darn well Americans will be quick to pull that "constitutional rights" card.

There's no need for it, because there's plenty of room on the planet still. In fact, most European and Asian countries already have extremely low birthrates as it is. Last thing we need is the government telling me how many kids I'm allowed to have and or taxing me because of them. Ridiculous.

Well there could be a reason for trying to control the population? Food/water is already scarce

The earth is already [expletive]ed, for us and the future generations, so why worry about how many people are here for when it ends?

There's plenty of food to go around, it's just a matter of how it gets distributed and consumed. Water is more scarce, but with how technology advances, you have to know that there will be a myriad of ways to get water (like converting salt water to fresh).

People should take an IQ test and pass a certain level in order to have kids.

 

People need to take a driving test to drive a car, go to school to have a job, etc. I don't see a reason why it can't be done for parents to have children as well.

 

Not only would it help limit our population while still making it possible for anyone to have children (you can increase your IQ through education), but it would also increase the average intelligence level as well.
