bigdog17k
I'd like to do something like that, but I find most of the "updated" rosters to still be very inaccurate - tell me which roster you downloaded, or could you upload the one you're using? BTW, how do you start from the 10-11 season?
bigdog17k
Did you sim your first year? Because I tried that and controlling 30 teams is nuts, especially with all the notifications that keep popping up.
Cleveland's Finest
Yeah it took awhile. I used the latest OS rosters and simmed the first year and once I got to the playoffs, kept doing it until LA won it. Then I just traded draft picks using the teams to get accurate picks. And I used my draft class which I forget the name of it. A lot of picks/contracts for the years beyond the season I'm about to play are screwed up, but it all works out so that the 10-11 season can be played with pretty accurate rosters. I'm on vacation but when I get back I'll begin.

Facing a slightly redone Nets team, the Cavs played their first game without LeBron in 7 years. Things started shaky, as the Cavs only put up 15 points in the first quarter. However, the offense picked up in the 2nd quarter. The half ended with a buzzer beating 3 from Mo Williams from around half court. Coming out of the half, Coach Byron Scott had his Cavs ready. The Cavs opened up a 14-2 run and took a 51-40 lead. The Nets, however, came rolling back. The guard-center combo of Devin Harris and Brook Lopez kept the Nets offense in good flow, as both combined for 47 of the Nets' 74 points. The Cavs were down by three when the fourth quarter began. In the waning minutes of the game, the Cavs took a 71-69 lead. On the Nets' next possession, Devin Harris made a three point shot to give the Nets a 72-71 lead. But the Cavs, lead by Jamison, came back. On the following possession, Jamison took one of his awkward shots in the paint and got the and one. Making the free throw, the Cavs took a 74-72 lead. However, Devin Harris made it clear that this game wasn't over yet. He drove to the basket for the easy lay up, stunning the Cavs. The crowd went crazy. With 9 seconds left, though, the Cavs still wanted to win. With no timeouts left, Ramon Sessions ran the ball up the floor, handed it off the the hot hand, Jamison. Jamison caught the ball in the post, turned around to take the 10 foot jumper, and nailed it. The Nets had no time to retaliate, and the Cavs had won the game. http://media.cleveland.com/startingblocks/photo/new-cavaliers-secondary-logojpg-3e1cc85a3e691cec_small.jpgCavaliers Extra Post-Game CommentsAntawn Jamison - "My team needed me tonight and I delivered. We have a lot to overcome this season and I think that we can do some things. It feels really good to start off on a good note." Byron Scott - "I saw a lot of positives on the court tonight. We got the job done and won a tough contested game. There's always going to be calls or plays that you regret, but we have to get past that. We've got a tough game tomorrow at home so we have to be ready." Game Notes- Ramon Sessions and Ryan Hollins looked lost at some points during the game. Sessions had only 4 points and had 5 fouls which handicapped his game. Hollins has a lot of work to do if he wants more playing time. - Mo Williams looks like a lock for starting shooting guard. Played off the ball extremely well. - JJ Hickson had some moments but the team expects more from him now. Had only 9 points. - It looks like the team is going to be running most games. Most of the night, the Cavs were up tempo and on the break. Joey Graham had a few impressive dunks to help the momentum. The defense is also a good sign so far. It only took one day for that excitement to come to a screeching halt. One day later, the Chicago Bulls came to town. The newly renovated Bulls with additions of Carlos Boozer, Kyle Korver, and Ronnie Brewer (who had 29 points combined) strolled into the Q with intensity and determination. That translated on the court. The game opened up with a fast pace. The Q was rocking, and the Cavs were running the Bulls up and down the court. It was hard, however, for the Cavs to find a consistent scorer and that hurt them as the game continued. The Bulls relied on Luol Deng's outstanding first half performance. His 19 points in the first half kept the Cavs from making any sort of come back. The Cavs made a run to start the half, and made it a 10 point game. However, the Bulls quickly got back to their lockdown defense and took a 27 point lead at one point. By then, the game was pretty much decided and the Cavs and Bulls put in their substitutes. http://media.cleveland.com/startingblocks/photo/new-cavaliers-secondary-logojpg-3e1cc85a3e691cec_small.jpgCavaliers Extra Post-Game CommentsMo Williams - "Deng was hitting all those shots and we just couldn't keep it up. I couldn't make the threes that I attempted so it was a bad night for me." Byron Scott - "I'll be the first to admit that this wasn't pretty. I liked our hustle early on, but you have to keep that up. I believe that our guys lost some of that, especially on the defensive end. We have to be more on it defensively when we face Milwaukee." Game Notes- Sessions was a lot more involved and his assist count showed. Could use a little more in terms of scoring, but overall was an improvement. - The defense is lacking. Sessions was able to defend Rose fairly well, but Deng had his way with the wings. - Moon had a good contribution when he was in the game. Could see more of him in the rotation - Starting line up could have some tweaks. Jamison could be moving to SF, with Verajao starting at C and Hickson moving to PF. - Hickson scored more points, but the Cavs are looking for a lot more from him.Game 3: @ Bucks (11/3/10) Edited August 14, 2010 by The New Beginning

John Salmons and Michael Redd, along with Chris Douglas-Roberts, played the bulk of the point guard position. The Bucks couldn't defend the Cavs point guards, as Mo Williams, Ramon Sessions, and Daniel Gibson combined for 45 points. Mo and Boobie went a combined 10 of 15 from three point land, and it seemed like every three they shot went in. The Bucks lacked their true playmaker, and it showed. The team took mostly jump shots and struggled in running plays successfully. Those unsuccessful plays translated to turnovers, giving the Cavs momentum. The Cavs put up 40 in the first quarter, sending a shock wave throughout the arena, just bolting the fans and the Bucks. The Bucks were down 9 points at one point in the third quarter, but the Cavs made sure it wouldn't get any closer. Opening up a 10-0 run in the 4th quarter closed the game as the Cavs clinched their second win of the season. http://community.2ksports.com/community/storage/media/v/l3/l2425/m2426459.jpgDaniel Gibson had 15 points along with 5 threes.http://media.cleveland.com/startingblocks/photo/new-cavaliers-secondary-logojpg-3e1cc85a3e691cec_small.jpgCavaliers Extra Post-Game CommentsDaniel Gibson - "I just felt it tonight and my team kept giving me good looks. It feels good when you can hit all those threes and bring home a victory at the same time. Byron Scott - "That was the perfect game. We got down on D and didn't let up. Of course it's always nice when you can hit those threes lights out, but I was happy with our offense in general. Game Notes- Daniel Gibson hadn't made a single three this season until tonight, in which he made five. - Samardo Samuels played a few minutes in the 4th and seemed like he knew what was going on. - Joey Graham is emerging as a top scorer on this team. Mo and Jamison were expected top scorers, but Graham is stunning the Cavs organization. We'll see how this continues - Cavs have a five game home stand coming up after their trip to Portland. Only a few weeks away from Miami at home.
