Flash
I don't want to get ahead of myself but I was just thinking about the possibility of this series come next June. How big would a Lakers/Heat finals be for the league? I think it would be as popular as those 90's Jordan/Jazz finals. The three best and most exciting players in the world. Three of the most skilled big men in the world, Kobe and Artest covering Wade and LeBron and a style matchup of perfectly contrasted strengths and weaknesses in LA's size vs. Miami's athleticism. Poe
If Kobe Bryant's team beats one of the greatest trios ever in the NBA Finals, that may solidify his recognition as the greatest player of all time. If he beats them twice, the debate is over. ...at least as far as public opinion goes. Edited July 20, 2010 by Poe
magicbalala245
It would be great. It would give Bosh a chance to establish his ranks in this league as one of the best big men against Gasol who is the best big man in the league. Not only do we get Kobe Vs LeBron but we get Kobe Vs LeBron & Wade. And with Artest you never know what's gonna happen like when him and Pierce went down in game 1 within the first 30 seconds. You knew there was gonna be physical altercation but not within the first 30 seconds of the NBA Finals. It probably will come down to bench and center's. Big Z just won't be able to contain Bynum down on the block Big Z is too slow with his quickness and foot speed. However when Big Z is on offense he will be able to pull Drew out the block because of mid range to 3pt shooting which can set up 1 on 1 scenarios with Gasol & Bosh. It should be a interesting series if they both make it their. Edited July 20, 2010 by magicbalala245
Jammin
Still not as big as Lakers vs. Heat Christmas game, after Shaq was traded. THAT was huge.
Flash
Still not as big as Lakers vs. Heat Christmas game, after Shaq was traded. THAT was huge. That game was massive, but this is for the title. How long has the league been waiting for Kobe vs. Lebron or Kobe vs. Wade in the finals? Now there's the possibility of having all 3 of them playing for the title and that's massive for the league.
Dzy
The series would be pretty hyped up. There will be so much in it that people want to see. LeBron vs Kobe, another possible Lakers/Phil Jackson 3 peat, can the trio win a championship in their first year? Will LeBron finally get the ring he wants so badly. *Swish*
Let's not forget Chris Bosh Vs Pau Gasol!! they're both amazing big men. Two of the best PF's in the league right now. That would be amazing to see these type of finals. So much stars involved in these series would make it pretty exciting and really not boring to watch. I really thought about this before and I think it's going to happen IF the Heat have team chemistry.. and as Poe said, if the Lakers beat the Heat it will solidify his recognition for the best basketball player ever. Check my Stats
It sucks that LA doesn't have a 3rd huge star, because I think a lot of people are going to view this as Kobe vs LBJ and Wade, but forget that the Lakers have such a stacked roster top to bottom. I think this is the matchup all of us are waiting for, I don't think there is any doubt that these are the two teams that will be in the finals, their talent levels are heads above all the other teams. The two best players go at it in LBJ and Kobe, maybe the two best offensive bigs not named Dirk in the same game, and then Miller, Wade and the rest vs Bynum, Odom and Artest... obviously this isn't the literal match-ups but this is how I am looking at it, despite it being 'Wade's team' lol. Not to mention the Laker's 3-peat on the line with Phil Jackson in his last year, there are so many awesome storylines. Hopefully we get this dream matchup.
