what is the error you get when you hit connect to xbox live?

it tells me i cant connect and tells me to make sure it's connected. then it says it can't connect again and tells me to reset the router. then it says it can't connect again and tells me to go to their website (which just tells me the same thing my xbox told me)

is your computer also hooked up to the router?

what is the router model?

I run my Ethernet cable from the wall and into my xbox, and I use wireless internet for my laptop. Thats how I do it, I could never set it up any other way.

not everyone has a home wired for networking. I don't have to worry about it since my router and xbox are in the same room

Does that work really well? My router SUCKS! It's for PS2 but it works for my 360 lol

Yes, I am always picked as host for games. I had a little problem where my connection would suck if my brother was playing ps3 online while I was on XBL, but that fixed itself somehow. Other than that, it works perfect, unless you don't have a laptop because then you can't be on the internet while you are playing xbox.
