The Regime
The Knicks have made a contract offer to Shannon Brown using a portion of their remaining salary-cap room, according to Ken Berger of CBS Sports. The 24-year-old Brown is weighing whether to join the Knicks, where he may eventually win the starting two-guard job, or wait for the Lakers who are trying to shed Sasha Vujacic's $5.4 million salary and relieve the luxury-tax burden of retaining Brown. Berger also notes that New York is in pursuit of Rudy Fernandez and is known to covet Chris Paul. In any trade offer, the Knicks would be able to combine the assets acquired from Golden State in the sign-and-trade that sent David Lee to the Warriors. A prohibition on aggregating the salaries of recently acquired players only applies to teams that are over the cap. http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/68428/20100729/knicks_make_offer_to_shannon_brown/ Really? Shannon would eventually win the starting two guard job? He's a solid bench player at best, he needs to weigh his options, championship or extended role on a 6-8 seed team. fish7718
He'd be awesome in an uptempo offense, dunking left and right
The Regime
He'd be awesome in an uptempo offense, dunking left and right And that's all you going to get from him, super super streaky shooter with horrible shot selection. Good luck with the whole idea of starting him.

The Regime
So Nate but a little taller? I'll take it. Not even close, Nate Robinson is a far better offensive player.
JYD
He's already got the rings. I don't see why you wouldn't want to come to the mecca of the basketball world and get a chance to start and begin the revival of the Knicks. It's a win-win-win. Newman
What the Knicks need is someone who can excite the crowd. Given how high Brown can jump, he can do that no doubt. I am sure the Knicks fans don't ask for more than that. If they do, just go start Azubuike instead.
Big Penny
Alan Hahn: Knicks Had No Offer Made To Shannon No offer made. Was told concepts discussed. RT @nbfunt: @alanhahn @hoopshype is posting that Knicks made an actual offer to Brown. True?
Check my Stats
He is an LLE caliber player, if he gets more than 2-3 mill annually that would be sad.
The Next Knick
I really don't know much about Brown, all I know is he's a big playmaker and has ups. I like the signing, but don't think he'd start over Billy Walker.
ChosenOne
Brown would be a good fit in NY. I think he has the potential to make a big impact if he get the minutes and if the team is some what patient with him. Shannon should sign if he wants to become more than just a bench play for a team.
Flight
He can try and fit the role that Nate used to have, but it's not happening. Still though, the fans need someone that exciting, and Brown can be that guy.
