Nets rotation?

PG - Devin Harris / Jordan Farmar

SG - Courtney Lee / Anthony Morrow

SF - Travis Outlaw / Terrence Williams

PF - Derrick Favors / Kris Humpries

C - Brook Lopez / Johan Petro

I've seen Outlaw say he was told he'd start at the three but if nobody is signed we might see:

PG - Devin Harris / Jordan Farmar

SG - Courtney Lee / Terrence Williams

SF - Anthony Morrow / Damion James

PF - Travis Outlaw / Derrick Favors

C - Brook Lopez / Johan Petro

Smaller lineup that could run and with a fast point gaurd in Harris and a weapon of a shooter in Morrow, it'll definately be fun to watch.

Can't rule out Ross or James getting a lot of playing time as Ross is known for his defense and could be used as Averys pet while Damion ranked second in most NBA ready rookie and showed it in summer league.

8 man rotation:

PG: Devin Harris - 36 mpg

SG: Terrence Williams - 34 mpg

SF: Travis Outlaw - 30 mpg

PF: Derrick Favors - 32 mpg

C: Brook Lopez - 38 mpg

Bench

Troy Murphy - 28 mpg

Jordon Farmar - 22 mpg

Anthony Morrow - 20 mpg

Devin will get minutes at the 1 and 2, Terrence at the 2 and 3 and sometimes the 1, and Derrick Favors at the 4 and 5. Everyone else stays in their natural positions.

Edit: If Favors isn't NBA-ready, then start Murphy with 34 mpg and have Favors come off the bench with 26 mpg. Either way, Morrow and Farmar are not starter material.

Murphy is going to start unless Favors REALLY impresses in training camp.

I can't agree or disagree about minutes because nobody really knows but I doubt Brook gets 38 per night unless refs start giving him Dwight Howard treatment. Also, Ross and Damion James could be big impactors yet could also do nothing as this roster is a complete question mark aside from Harris, Lopez and now Murphy.

I think 32 MPG is way too much for a 19 year old big man. Give Favors the same Derozan treatment he got in Toronto.... just start him but bring him along slowly... play him 20-25 minutes a night and if he is going good give him more minutes.

You're probably right. It's going to depend how well he adapts, but judging by his age, 20-25 minutes sounds reasonable.

At the same time, the Raptors had playoff goals while the Nets don't seem to be a playoff caliber team just yet. Perhaps it's a good idea to give Favors extra playing time and allow him to play through his mistakes... if they plan on going after another draft pick. Otherwise, give more minutes to the better player.

Murphy's role should be as a security for Favors. He'll come in early and play as a sixth man. He only has one year left on his contract and won't likely be in the Nets' long-term plans.

And I don't see 38 mpg for Lopez as doubtful. He averaged 37 mpg last year. Then again, he is recovering from mono so perhaps early in the year he won't be able to handle as much playing time due to fatigue. At least somewhere between 32-37 minutes.

Also, Terrence starting isn't a question mark to me. He's a great compliment for Harris because of his ability to run an offense. Harris isn't a pure point guard, so having better ball handlers will take pressure off of Harris and will allow him to be more affective (think back to when VC was on the team).

The only question mark I see is the decision on whether Avery will choose to start Favors or Murphy. I think it's a better decision to start Favors to better develop him, and give Murphy somewhat close to his usual playing time off the bench (he averaged 32 mpg last year).

Other than that, I fully expect Harris, Lopez, Williams, and Outlaw to start, and have Farmar and Morrow off the bench. Ross and James minutes will likely be limited (though I don't know much about James, I don't have high expectations out of a late first rounder).

I think you start Murphy over Favors, and Williams over Morrow. Favors is a raw rookie and will need time to grow. Murphy is a proven comodity and if you start Williams/Outlaw, his 3pt shooting and ability to stretch the floor will be a major plus.
