Big Penny
#Celtics appear to be close to signing Shaquille O'Neal. Will have the story up shortly.
*Swish*
It's a done deal soon so.... great for the Celtics to get Shaq. He will help the team on the rebounding part which they have been struggling for some years now. That will be weird to see him with a green uniform. Check my Stats
He actually might fit with them.
Dzy
Should be interesting to see how Rivers play the big men with Shaq, Jermaine, KG, Big Baby, and Perkins (when he comes back from injury).
NomarFachix
Shaq and O'Neal rotate at the 5, KG and Baby rotate at the 4. They could all use the blows, due to age or weight
kingfish
If Shaq signs with the Celtics he can forget about ever coming back to LA or getting his jersey retired here. <_<
Multi-Billionaire
I don't think there's any Laker legend that played for the Celtics... it's kind of weird. But his jersey should be retired by Lakers regardless...
bigdog17k
Celtics - big and old
Owner Real Deal Posted August 4, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted August 4, 2010 Just adds the possibility of 10-15 points in the paint for Boston, a true big that actually has a good offensive game under the rim (I don't consider Davis a center, and Perkins isn't an offensive threat most of the time). Miami should be concerned, as well as Orlando, honestly.

TheHutch
Great signing for the Celtics. Watching him last year, he has obviously lost a step, but the man is still tough to handle down low and gives it 100% every night.
Owner Real Deal Posted August 4, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted August 4, 2010 The Boston-Miami game will probably contain at least 80 combined free throws. But with Shaq playing, it should help Boston reach at least 10.
Abro
good signing for the celtics if Shaq can keephis big fat ego outta the way. Hmmm... Itll be interesting to see their rotation and how much Shaq plays when Perkins comes back.
Nitro
Good for the regular season, but for the playoffs? Meh. If Perkins is healthy for the post-season Shaq will be the 3rd string Center and I can't see that going over so well. And even though he gives the Celtics a post presence, their amazing defense is going to take a big hit when he's on the court. That's why the JO signing from a basketball standpoint was perfect because he's still a very good defender who can defend legit post players as well as make quick rotations on the PNR. Shaq will have a much harder time with that. Then again, he's another big body who can score efficiently. And he's signing for the vet minimum. Dash
How amazing would this team have been 5 years ago?
htownborn
Shaq is obviously just depth for the Celtics in the frontcourt. I garuntee he'll be trading bait by mid season when Perkins return.

Newman
When Perkins come back.... C: Perkins, ShaqPF: KG, Jermaine O'Neal Big Baby can play either position if any of the 4 above is injured. Honestly, I am afraid of Boston.

Honestly, I am afraid of Boston.honestly I'm not afraid. Shaq will get some rebounds and 4 points per game which isn't scary. I'm not scared of Boston because they're all old. Shaq is old, Jermaine is old, Pierce, Allen, KG etc. yeah there is Perkins and Rondo but the rest are just old players that will either get injured either not have good games because of their age
