EastCoastNiner
Wouldn't be surprised if he took steroids also. I have very little doubt that he's a juicer. He went to a JUCO school that was pretty much a known roid factory. A-Rod was more obvious though because of his drastically changing physique. Phightins
Then lets put an asterisk on every statistic between 1995 and 2007 while we're at it. It's dumb, and will turn into nothing but a witch hunt. Major League Baseball [expletive]ed up by allowing this to happen, and they are now taking the steps to correct it (blood testing for HGH in the minors, and eventually in the Majors). Time to just let it go. Think what you want of A-Rod, but to start with asterisks is incredibly dumb and unfair.

EastCoastNiner
Yes because Fenway is so difficult to hit in More so than Coors Field. There's a reason Todd Helton's stats are not NEARLY as good outside of Coors field. If you want to compare the difference in Manny's, Papi's, or any other good Red Sox hitter's differential in stats from Fenway to opposing parks, I bet the difference is far less than players on the Rockies. JYD
If you honestly doubt it, you are a moron.i agree. there's a great chance pujols is on 'em, along with 50-60% of MLB using HGH right now. Yes because Fenway is so difficult to hit inharder then a lot of stadiums for lefties...
Phightins
harder then a lot of stadiums for lefties... It's actually one of the easiest stadiums to hit in as a lefty. The green monster has turned so many outs in most other stadiums into extra base hits. EDIT: Woops that didn't make sense. Meant to say that the Pesky Pole has turned many outs/foul balls into homeruns for pull-happy lefties, and the monster has turned many outs into extra base hits for all hitters. Just very hitter-friendly dimensions all around. Also, park factor has always existed. Look at some of the outfield dimensions of the early 20th century ballparks. Not really right to compare it to steroids. But as I've also said, I think it's time to forget about steroids as well. trutrojan8
harder then a lot of stadiums for lefties...Do you even know why it's called the PESKY POLE? lol it was pretty much the only part in baseball Johnny Pesky could actually hit a homerun on

NomarFachix
Phightins nailed this topic. As I've said numerous times before (not just here), it was a generation of cheating, so you really can't pluck the one or two guys who were great and thus witch hunted and take away their accomplishments. Barry Bonds was a PHENOMENAL player. One we were lucky to watch. Did steroids aid him a bit? Sure. But they aided so many players of that generation, it's unfair to kill him over it and asterisk his numbers and not the numbers of so many others, including the PED laced 70's that nobody seems to care about. ChosenOne
Because everyone who takes steroids hits 600 homeruns right? Like Larry Bigbie? Steroids or not, it still takes a ton of skill to hit 600 homeruns. Yeah it takes skill no doubt about it, but if had not juiced them just think about how many of those would have been pop outs? No matter how much people want to clean his name it is just not going to happen, at the end of the day he took Roids to get an cheating advantage. Speaking of changed physique http://www.homeruncards.com/imagesrc/david-ortiz-ultra.jpg to http://cache.boston.com/resize/bonzai-fba/Globe_Photo/2009/07/31/1249095190_2778/300h.jpg eh? eh?? kingfish
If you honestly doubt it, you are a moron.Who cares who doubts what? The fact is, 1) Pujols has not been caught, or linked. 2) Pujols isnt an a-hole like a-roid. As long as Pujols name remains clean im not just going to accuse him of being a juicer. Babe Ruth had nice stats also so lets accuse him of juicing. Lets accuse every succesfull player of juicing while were at it.

Lets put an asterisk next to his name for that. /sThe steroid era in baseball is simply that, another era. And how the hell do you know Pujols isn't an a-hole? Do you give him blow jobs every Sunday morning?I don't understand how you can talk about players like you know them personally. Also, I am not accusing Pujols of using steroids at all. I am simply saying that if he was caught using them, I would not be surprised. If you honestly think that there is a 0% chance that Pujols used steroids at one point you are being delusional. Lone Wolf
Pujols isn't an [expletive]. I don't see him bragging or trash talking or trying to get away with things. By the way, the reason no one accuses Ruth of using steroids is because it wasn't the "steroid era". I don't like how people assume that great players took steroids. This world is becoming "guilty until proven innocent".

Phightins
Well, the names from the Mitchell Report are out there, I just happen to care very little about it. If they had also tested for HGH and those names were on the list as well, then maybe I'd feel differently. One way or the other, there are likely hundreds of guys who have used/are still using HGH and we will never know about it. So IMO it's just time to move on.
