I should have gotten this done years ago. I'm not really sure what to expect because so many people have different results. Some are in pain for up to a week, others for barely a day. Anybody else have theirs pulled yet? I'm pissed because I have relatives coming to visit pretty soon and I don't want to look like a whining chipmunk when I see them lol.

I had some teeth pulled before I got braces a few years ago, that didn't hurt at all. They gas you up, and you barely feel anything going on during the surgery part. But that was regular teeth I had to make room, and not wisdom teeth... so I don't really know. But mine didn't hurt afterwards for long, just took some advil for some pain, and it was good to go.

I had mine removed back in early June. All went fine. I was in pain for about 2-3 days. Nothing really major. For some reason with mine, the medicine they gave me made my stomach feel horrible. I also swallowed a lot of blood which made it feel even worse. One I got the medicine changed out everything was fine.

Good luck, I just had braces put in 2 days ago.

Now that hurts like a [expletive]. My braces hurt for like a week until they started feeling normal.

But once you get them off your teeth feel soooo smooth since you're used to the metal jabbing your inner lip.

At first it hurts because they basically put like cement on your teeth to have the metal there but you'll get use to it, it sucks since my gums werent used to the braces I got a lot of cuts and crap like that, but trust me when you get them off, braces are so worth it.

I'm nervous now haha. I'm going to look like an absolute tool when my family comes down to visit. I'm not going to want to talk to anyone. I'll probably just be playing xbox during the whole healing process, if I even have the effort for that. :(

Don't be. You go there and get an IV and then you won't remember anything else. The first day you'll just want to sleep since it can take a while for the numbness to go away.

Its not that bad. Only thing that really sucks is that you will be drooling blood when you sleep and you have to change your gauze pads every once in a while. the hardst part for me was not being able to eat what I wanted. Drinking Milkshakes and power juices sucked (what they gave us in the navy)

Ok, so I guess I'm the odd person out in this case. Mine hurt for close to three weeks... I couldn't open my mouth for the longest time... and a piece of advice: do not, i repeat, do not overdose on vicodin. You will come to realize why people get so addicted to it. At least I do anyway. I overdosed on it. That was a weird night... hahaha

Haha 3 weeks?? Longest duration of pain I've heard so far is my little brother who got his out years ago, but they weren't fully grown in so it took a lot longer and a lot more effort to pull them out so he was swollen and in pain for about 2 weeks at most.

Wow, I hope all goes well. I'm leaving for the doctor in about 10 minutes. Wish me luck haha.

Ugh.... I feel like absolute [expletive] right now, it's taking me a while to type this post because I keep missing certain letters... I'm wearing a hood with ice strapped to both sides of my face right now.

Writing this post took almost a minute.

You still numb or has that worn off?
