nbablogjob
There had to be a big loser in this summer's epic free agent scenario, and the Nets were it. If there is anyone who loathes his/her profession more outside of Byron Scott in the NBA, it's any person who runs the Net's P.R. campaign. How can someone generate excitement for the upcoming season? "Hey fans come out and see our big-time free agent pickup; Jordan Farmar!" To fill the seats Jay-Z will have to perform at every halftime with Dracula (Mikhail Prokhorov) as his hype-man. The Nets are young team and they did draft well, but it seems that they will remain irrelevant in the NBA standings for several more years. http://nbablogjob.blogspot.com/
Nitro
I kind of agree, although the Nets still have a very young core with potential, and just as importantly still have a decent amount of cap space. Not to mention plenty of draft picks. Even though they struck out on this FA, at least they didn't give a Rudy Gay or Joe Johnson max money. That would have seriously locked this team in terms of cap space for many years. Instead they took a conservative approach and still have the cap room and assets to either sign a big-name FA down the road or make a trade for a star player. crabbylion
Great article, dude. Informative and worthy of chuckles. As for that Cleveland tourism ad, did you make it? Because I can't wait to share it for ya.

Universe
Don't understand how Knicks had to overpay for Amare but you don't factor that in for Atlanta and JJ. Yes, he's not worth the money so it's better not to do anything and just let him walk? Then you include the Nets for not doing anything either? Nets would have had to overpay to land anyone too so just not great explaining of why teams failed in the off-season.

Because I can't wait to share it for ya. I wish we could take credit for it, but it's something we found. Only half of it actually plays on the site, the full video is on youtube. It's beyond hilarious
nbablogjob
lol the Knicks drafted poorly? You can't tell me Andy Rautins was a good pick. In the 2nd round, its a crap shoot. You gotta take longshots. They should have gone with the kid from U of Cincy, Stephenson, plus he's an NY kid. Stephenson is an NY kid, Rautins is a Syracuse kid. What's the difference? Stephenson could be a nothing if he doesn't develop a consistent shot or a passing ability, at Rautins' worst he's still a plus spot-up shooter. Hey, im rooting for the knicks here after the miserable display of basketball that has gone on for several years. The NBA needs the knicks. Adding Amar'e was great. Felton is a good pick up as well. Losing Lee may balance out because they did get some decent pieces back. Their drafts have been questionable at best. Jordan Hill, an early first rounder was traded before he hit the 10 month mark. And now, Rautins..He will hit an open three here and there, but you gotta go for the homerun in the 2nd round if your the knicks. The other kid from standford, forgot his name, but there is no way he ends up having any impact. The best thing the Knicks did this summer was not panic. They could have went out and easily overpaid someone like John Salmons to try to save face. Finally some patience in NY. Bringing Isiah back, is an interesting move to say the least. Im pulling for the knicks, you gotta be happy that they didnt do anything stupid. The will be mediocre next year, but seem to be the front runners for Melo. Imagine if they land CP3 as well. How great is that for the NBA. Melo, Amar'e, CP3 v Wade, LBJ and BOsh
NomarFachix
The 'other kid from standford', the one you said has 0 chance of having any impact... He made #6 on David Thorpe's post summer league Rookie Watch. You take what you think is most valuable in the 2nd round. Rautins can shoot. Knicks needed shooters. Done and done. Should we have taken Stephenson? How and where would he have fit this Knicks team?
