kingfish
"...They are unguardable. They are indefensible. They are just too good and have added so much shooting and are so versatile that they will score at will. And with Erik Spoelstra coaching, they will be in the top three defensive teams in the league, as well. The other 29 teams better hope the lockout gets moved up a year.''And I think they have a legit shot at the Lakers' 33-game (1971-72 winning streak) as well. And only the Lakers have even a remote shot at beating them in a playoff series. They will never lose two games in a row this year." Link This guy is such a clown. Nitro
He has the right to have an opinion, and I don't think it's SOOOOO far out there to predict the Heat can possibly tie or beat 72 wins. Afterall, at no time in the last few decades (except maybe the early 2000's Lakers) have 2 of the top 3 players been on the same team...in their absolute prime. Throw in another top 15 player, a few elite 3pt shooters, good depth, and a good defensive coach, and you certainly have all the proper ingredients. I personally don't think it will happen because the '95-'96 Bulls had their main core together for a number of years and had the luck of being in a league with 2 brand new expansion teams. Top to bottom the league is deeper with the bottom teams being a lot stronger than they were in the '90's. But if any team has the potential to do it, it's the Miami Heat. SRV
Hes not crazy, he just sees the potential in it. Some people see it as a very deadly trio, like it is...and some people see it as three guys that can be beaten on any night. They have the talent to be a beast of a team, and if you don't see it then there is something wring with you. The only thing that can beat them is stupid mistakes and bad defense, cause they can score on any team, and we have good defender and a great bench. Clutch
well if any team is gonna come close or break the record..you would assume it would be a team STACKED like the lakers (i honestly expected them to beat it last year lol) or now the heat with 3 superstars and a pretty decent bench..but unless heat win it all..the record will only bring on more hate (regular season show like the cavs were WONT be a good look) for a team that is already the most hated Edited August 10, 2010 by Clutch
Poe
If there is anyone who knows what he's talking about, it's Jeff Van Gundy.

SRV
Heres the thing though, Lebron with a bunch of scrubs led his team to the best record in the NBA...Lebron with Wade, Bosh and a good group of bench players can only take you back to that record, and probably better. I know it seems crazy to some people that this team can break the single season win record, but if any team can do it in today's NBA, it might as well be this team. Plus, the East only has like 3 or 4 other good teams so that makes it even easier on us.
Erick Blasco
It's almost certainly just a meaningless oversight, but does anyone notice that the link to the page is http://content.usatoday.com/communities/gameon/post/2010/08/jeff-van-gundy-will-be-shocked-if-bulls-lose-a-game/1 Adding Carlos Boozer has just made Chicago unstoppable! But while I think there's a lot of hyperbole, remember what the Celtics did the first year of the trio? They romped early in the season, then got a little bored, but still destroyed teams. What's to stop a really good Heat team from doing the same?
kingfish
I can honestly see the Heat winning 70 games, that part I agree with. Playing in the East and most teams in the West wont be able to stop Lebron, Wade, and Bosh and those 3 will just run wild on most teams. But when they get to the playoffs, its not going to be that easy. Teams that are great defensively can keep those 3 out of the paint, Boston specifically. And lets not forget the Heat dont have any bigs that can play physical inside, Ilgauskas is the only 7 footer they have and he couldnt even get minutes in Cleveland. I also think Chicago could give them a scare, Rose could run wild on any of their point guards, Boozer is a physical matchup for Bosh, and they also have Joakim, I like Chicagos frontcourt over Miami's. Then you have LA with several defensive stoppers, strong point guard play, and a dominant front court, oh and Kobe. It should be interesting to see how it plays out, the main question is can Lebron and Wade negate what they dont have in the post, and most teams dont have what it takes to beat them by pounding them inside. Thus I feel like the Heat can stomp through the regular season, especially with a motivated trio like that.
Big Penny
lmao @ the heat winning 70 games. they'll win around 60. and LMFAO at the dick who think's LeBron lead a bunch of scrubs to the best record. Kwame Brown, Smush Parker and Brian Scalabrine are scrubs. not Mo Williams, Antawn Jamison and Shaq.
SRV
Seasons previous to them having Jamison, they weren't too great of a team. A 60+ win teams usually consists of two really good players or a star and another star, not a star and a bunch of role players. Jamison and Shaq are nowhere near what they used to be. His second options were pretty much Mo and whoever could shoot a three. Also see what Wade did with his team, two straight seasons of getting to the playoffs and the only other consistent player was Haslem, everyone else was hit or miss.
