The Regime
The Knicks are among the teams trying to acquire Rudy Fernandez from the Trail Blazers and they have offered forward Wilson Chandler. A league source told ESPN.com's Chris Sheridan that the Bulls and Celtics have each offered Portland a first-round draft pick in exchange for the Spanish swingman. http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/68774/20100820/knicks_offer_chandler_for_fernandez/
ChosenOne
lol why not pull the trigger Blazers
*Swish*
Chandler for Fernandez would be a decent trade. Blazers are obviously going to lose Fernandez so if they get Chandler in return it would really be good. Knicks would get a great shooting guard off the bench that would light up when he's on the court.
Riot
I don't get why teams are after him, I thought he is dead set on wanting to go back to Spain. Knicks would be dumb to do this.

I think if he went to the Knicks his mind would change because he would get a lot more minutes than he is with the Blazers, and his role would change as well. NomarFachix
Fernandez would/should start for the Knicks, if they traded for him. Bill Walker, Azu, Roger Mason are his competition.
Flash
This trade only makes sense if they think they can make a deal for Melo because then you replace Gallinari's shooting with Rudy's. Personally, I think Chandler is a pretty good player and I wouldn't do the deal unless I know I'm getting Carmelo.
Nitro
As Flash said, it doesn't make sense at ALL unless the Knicks could acquire Melo. Even then, Chandler is a better player than Rudy who can more effectively play both the SG and SF positions. Even if Rudy's attitude was all sunshine and lolipops the trade would be a mistake...the fact that he has a horrible attitude makes the trade so much more questionable. NomarFachix
Chandler's a great player stuck in a positional logjam... He can't play the 2. He just simply doesn't shoot well enough... and Gallo is going to demand majority of the 3 minutes going forward.
Dr. Feelgood
I don't understand why we haven't done this trade. Chandler would be a great back up for Batum and Lukey B could back up Roy. Get Rudy out of Portland and let the Knicks find out how inconsistent of a player he is. Though I do think Rudy wont even play for the Knicks as he did say he is done with the NBA as a whole. JYD
why not just include chandler in the package for melo?!
Owner Real Deal Posted August 21, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted August 21, 2010 Rudy isn't a great shooter. He's good every now and then, but way too inconsistent. He also gambles for steals in traffic and plays no on-ball defense. Other than his athleticism, I don't see what this guy has to offer as a starter. Really? Just a decent bench player, to me. Trading Chandler for him is a mistake. Go stick Chandler in the package for Melo, or look at other options. No point in making a move just to benefit Chandler's career, and make your team worse in the process.
