Will the fans be bad to McNabb? It isn't like McNabb left as a free agent to a rival

If I wind up going, I know I will be giving him a standing O. It seemed like a 50-50 mix in the time he was here, of fans supporting him and against him, so I suspect it might be a similar crowd reaction.

It'd be pretty sad to see them boo a guy who did so much for their franchise. Hopefully the fans give him a nice ovation.

Welcome to my dilemma every time I turned on sports talk radio in the 10 years he was here. Most of the people around here are irrational and stupid.

Obviously he should be cheered. You can argue he's the franchise's greatest player of all time, or at least the player who's had the biggest impact on the franchise. Obviously Reggie White was better. Anyways they should cheer, no surprise if he gets boo'd though, they'll boo anyone.

Personally I don't care, and I don't think Donovan does either. There's so much riding on this game, and it's much more than just Donovan getting back at the team he spent his whole career with (up till now).

This is a must win for the Skins.

I don't think it's a must win at all. The only games in the division that are must wins this early are games at home. Unless of course you lost a game at home, then the win on the road is that much more important. This really is a must win for the Eagles if they want to have a shot at the post season. Sure their 2-1 but they've really had no impressive win so far. I'd say this is a must win for the Eagles faster then I'd say it's a must win for the Skins.

If we can't beat the Eagles on Sunday, we have a chance at starting off the season 1-6 (next games feature the Packers, Colts, and Bears). If we really want to win this division (or make the wildcard), we need to take advantage of the games we have a good chance at winning. I don't consider Philly an elite team, however I do consider both the Packers and Colts elite..

I don't see why they would boo him, really. It's not like he chose to ditch the franchise.

A lot of people who attend Eagles games are stupid, obnoxious, and unreasonable. Basically what Smitty said.

Everybody in the division has to play those teams, judging by how the division has looked so far and the fact we play the AFC South and NFC North the winner could certainly be an 8-8 team. Couple that with the fact you play a must easier schedule than Dallas and Philly, I still don't think it's a must win. Not about how you start, it's about how you finish.

This game has a huge reward for victory and a steep price for defeat. A win puts us 2-0 in the division, .500 overall, and is a huge confidence boost to McNabb and the rest of the team going into the rough stretch.

A loss, puts us at 1-3 overall, 1-1 in the division, and I don't know if our guys would be ready mentally for the tough three games ahead.

It should be a standing O but it wont be because it is Philly. The ratio will more than likely be around 70-30 boos to applause.

I doubt it's that drastic. At every Eagles game I have gone to, the jersey I have seen the most is #5. He was/is very well liked by many. There are plenty of obnoxious and unreasonable fans (the ones I described a few posts up) who will surely boo just for the hell of it. But I'd be surprised if the boos outnumber the cheers. A lot of people who don't live here assume that the vocal minority that disliked McNabb represents every Eagles fan, which isn't true. He was very popular with most Eagles fans.

I hope so, he literally did everything right as an Eagle.

Yeah...it's really a shame how stupid some people can be. I was at ease with the trade when it happened, but I loved the guy when he was an Eagle and never understood most of the criticism.
