Smitty
Eagles D picked a fine time to decide they suck at defense.

Owner Real Deal Posted October 11, 2010 Author Owner Report Share Posted October 11, 2010 LOL, Vernon Davis just wants to taunt, no need to win the game.
Phightins
This would be absolutely monumental if the Eagles lose. If they blow this, we might see wholesale changes. For the good of the franchise maybe that is what they need... Either way, this Eagles team is a gigantic piece of [expletive] right now. Make It Naaaashty
omfg Gore would have scored.
Smitty
Phew... Phightins, win or lose...changes need to be made. There's no excuse for the defense letting the 49ers catch up so closely.
Phightins
So, 2 of the 3 Eagles wins this year have been horrendous efforts against terrible teams. Most deceiving 3-2 record of all time.

ChosenOne
and that is the game. How long will Mike Singletary remain head coach?
AboveLegit
Terrible, the Niners had a chance to win, and blew it. Hate to see a team fight back and come up short. Philly got pretty luck in this one, if it wasn't for that Smith pass intended for Gore getting batted down, they would have lost the game. Owner Real Deal Posted October 11, 2010 Author Owner Report Share Posted October 11, 2010 Gore was going to walk into the endzone. Very nice tip on that pass. It saved the game, really. Niners are 0-5. I didn't think they'd be a good team, but I didn't expect them to be this bad.

AboveLegit
and that is the game. How long will Mike Singletary remain head coach?I think he's going to get fired pretty soon. He isn't a mediocre coach, he preaches discipline and is a hardnosed guy, but his team still commits far too many turnovers...kinda weird if you ask me. EastCoastNiner
Don't worry Boldin, I'll be serving you a full plate of crow tomorrow with you "predictions" and "analysis's" from the past. Tonight wasn't even Smith's fault. I was ready to give up on him after last week, but he made one poor decision tonight, and that was the [expletive]ing fumble after the line broke down. The first INT you can fault him too if you want, but it was a deep ball that Ginn had no clue where it was. The last interception he was hit. Frank Gore and the defense lost this game. He had signs of fumbleitis tonight, which is a troubling sign. Finally, when Smith got to call his own [expletive]ing plays, the offense worked. Throw the ball to Davis and you will do well. It's pretty [expletive]ing simple.
The Regime
Mike Singletary should threaten Alex Smith every game, but then he'll actually play up to expectation.

It's pretty [expletive]ing simple. Meh, go ahead. There's not as much as the gold you put out. It's the Gold Rush all over again. Alex Smith made more then one single poor decision tonight, give me a break. And it wasn't just that monumental mistake that simply cost San Francisco the game (one of the contributing factors). He had throws into double coverage, throws to the wrong shoulder, he made a wrong read on a read option. He wasn't the main reason the 49ers lost, but he certainly didn't come out looking like an angel. Maybe Alex Smith is going to be a scapegoat in San Francisco. Actually he will be. Because the 49ers haven't won a game and the only game he's played very well in was the New Orleans game, and he didn't really come on until the 4th quarter. Let's stop protecting Alex Smith and expose him for what he is: A back-up quarterback who should never play another down as a full-time starter unless it's spot duty. Trent Edwards suffered from the same problem: he's not a winner. Alex Smith cannot win football games. He's been supplied with EVERYTHING he needed to succeed. The defense has shown up, he got his same coordinator for two years, he took his pay cut, he was surrounded with exceptional talent. The offensive line was rebuilt with two new starters and everyone had lofty expectations. Two things are clear: Alex Smith sucks, and Mike Singletary is an absolutely terrible head coach. The Great iBoldin
Mike Singletary is only good for two things: kicking peoples [expletive] (or showing people his own [expletive]) and motivating his players. He's a hard-nosed coach who's from the "old school" but he has given himself [expletive]ty positional coaches (except Manusky) and people who can't call their own plays. The Great iBoldin
Also, did anyone else catch Cris Collinsworth's retarded remark in the second quarter, when the 49ers ran a draw on 3rd and 15 I believe? "The 49ers seen that the Eagles were in an amoebic looking defense and decided to run the draw!" Never heard of anyone lining up in an amoebic defense, but okay. Flash
Boldin, how do you think Singletary would do at the collegiate level?
EastCoastNiner
Most of the INT's Smith has thrown have been his fault one way or the other, a few of those being tipped passes and balls that he didn't throw hard enough which is frustrating. However, last night when our dumb OC let Smith start calling some plays, Smith did very well. However, our dumb OC decided to try running the ball again and screwed us over. Frank Gore, the coaching staff, and the defense deserve 90% of the blame last night. When a team puts up 24 points, that should be enough to win a game. It's simple: Stop TRYING to be a running team when YOU'RE not a running team. The coaching staff likes to THINK they are a running team when in REALITY they are not. The spread works for them, yet they don't use it for 90% of the game. Coaching is the problem with that team. Also, if the 49er's won last night, I'd say they could still definitely win the division, but I have a LOT of doubts now. Arizona just beat New Orleans to go 3-0, so the 49er's NEEEEEEDDDDDD to beat the Cardinals twice and somehow win one more game from the remaining games than the Cardinals. The only team that may be close to as disappointing as the 49er's are the Cowboys, who someone else here will make excuse after excuses for. And I'm not sure how Singletary would do. I think he would either be viewed in a completely positive or a completely negative light. He'd be solid for recruiting, I think a lot of kids would want to play for the guy, but some of the prima donna kids that come out high school would get a rude awakening call.
