I agree with everything you said.

And I'm not sure how Singletary would do. I think he would either be viewed in a completely positive or a completely negative light. He'd be solid for recruiting, I think a lot of kids would want to play for the guy, but some of the prima donna kids that come out high school would get a rude awakening call.

The thing about Alex Smith is that you either think he's been getting screwed, or you think he's just flat out terrible. I want the team to win no matter who is QB, but I think that Smith still gives them the best chance to win. If they stop calling so many screens, runs, and check downs, things will work out, or should work out.

As evidence last night, when they started having Davis go down field covered by a LB, he killed the Eagles secondary. That is what they did last year as well, but haven't done it so far. Michael Crabtree also played well once things opened up. Is that a coincidence? I think not.

Smith makes his fair share of poor plays, but I'm still putting most of the blame on the coaching staff. I want Singletary to succeed because I like the guy and if he succeeds the team succeeds, but the OC's this team has had have had have really hurt them. I want to see them come out next game with a no huddle offense and be successful for more than the first drive until the end of the 4th quarter.
