He didn't even try to catch that, and it was an arm's length away from him where he could've at the very LEAST batted the ball down. Owens casually jogs back to the line while time is running out, then Chad basically bats down a pass right in his chest, nobody within 5 yards of him, to end the game. First of all, I know that pick looked bad on his part, but we have no clue whats going through his head. A lot of times if you do try to hit/catch with one hand you can end up knocking it up in the air and making it far easier for the DB's to pick. I highly doubt he WANTED Palmer to throw a pick. Funny a guy who is infamous for wanting the ball for himself, is now purposly giving up catches just to get at his QB?
