Whoops! In a strange turn of events, the next installment in one of Microsoft's most beloved (and lucrative) video gaming franchises, Halo, has been leaked.

That's the full version of Halo: Reach we're talking about, a game which pulled more than 2.7 million players during its two-week beta in early May. While the alleged thieves come from a forum of modders known as GameTuts, Microsoft—in many ways—shares a little bit of the leak's blame.

The game might have a release date of September 14, but Microsoft decided to seed Halo: Reach over its Xbox Live service for reviewers to download—sticking the full game with a seemingly impossibly price tag of 9999 Microsoft points, or around $1,250 in real-world cash. The industrious modders over at GameTuts somehow found their way past the special download code one would have to type in to access and download the game and, as you might expect, they grabbed themselves a copy.

I was watching a stream of Reach for an hour but I got bored because the retard kept playing the same map (quarry) and couldn't kill anyone. Although there is a map he played called Ivory Tower that looks very sexy.

They are playing a jtag xbox though, and on system link. Technically, they aren't on XBL so its fine. The second they go on XBL they are screwed. They might get the stream taken down, but not console banned, and even if they do, they know its coming so they have a backup plan, like most genius modders do. They might be idiots for doing this, but they know their stuff.

Dumb? I woudn't consider them dumb. Heck, they probably have MULTIPLE Xbox's so it's probably not a big deal for them.

there gonna be banning gamertags now over this, if ure that much of a halo geek (not saying u but just saying) where u cant wait till sept, then u need to be banned.

It's not just for Halo: Reach. I'm sure they have access to MANY MANY more games.

If you hack Halo Reach, you get the fame. These hackers have hacked many games before, and MS banned them, but they are smarter than Microsoft. They keep themselves a step ahead. Which is why no game can beat hackers, they can block all their current hacking methods, but a hacker will just find a way around it a few days later.

Modded controllers were "fixed" at the beginning of MW2, but someone found a way around it. They also fixed the prestige lobbies early on, but they found a way around it, to the points where IW doesn't waste time anymore because everything they do will be worked around eventually.
