EastCoastNiner
Which team do you think has the best defensive backs? Not just CB's, but SS and FS as well.

EastCoastNiner
I don't think you can go wrong saying the Jets, but I do like the Packers DB's a lot.

Make It Naaaashty
Maybe even the Cardinals with Rodgers-Cromartie, Adrian Wilson, and Rhodes now. But if Green Bay would'nt have lost Harris then they would be my choice.
Lkr
Probably the Jets by far when they have Revis. Packers are pretty good if Al Harris is in the lineup

The Great iBoldin
The Jets, Cincinnati, Tennessee (really scrappy secondary, especially Cortland Finnegan), San Diego to a degree, Oakland, Dallas, New York Giants (when playing M2M defense, I don't like the fit of Fewell there, he runs too much zone stuff and that'll hurt Webster and Terrell Thomas), Green Bay (with Al Harris of course), New Orleans, Arizona are my top ten. Teams like San Francisco, Carolina, Kansas City (potentially), New England, Miami and Houston are all potentially in that mix as well. San Fran has consistency problems and have a lot of money tied into Clements still (beauty in run support though) and that's a problem. Houston is very young and raw but have the potential to be an extremely athletic group. Same with Miami, although the physicality is already there, they just need to brush up on a few things this year. Kansas City has a hidden gem in Brandon Flowers, who's been on my Love Interest list for awhile. We'll also see about Carolina. Overall, I tend to favor a physical group (Miami) who uses a lot of press and stays away from the shell coverage and zones. It needs athletic corners, but I enjoy M2M so much more, and that's why I really like a player like Corey Webster. He plays M2M amongst the best in the league and doesn't allow a lot of guys to get free. He struggled last year without Spags because they ran too much vanilla [expletive] in the defensive backfield. You need to cater to your better players' strengths and that doesn't happen with Fewell this year, one of the reasons I don't like the G-Men as much as other people. Brandon Flowers, as previously mentioned, I love because he's scheme versatile and plays in multiple situations. Presses well and knows his zones. He picks up on routes and is a big body who doesn't allow a receiver to use his hands to shake press.
fish7718
Jets. Revis/Cromartie/Leonhard/PoolNot to mention Kyle Wilson who will probably surpass Cromartie next season if not late this season.
NomarFachix
Not to mention Kyle Wilson who will probably surpass Cromartie next season if not late this season. Troof, I honestly think it would be genius to start Wilson and let Cromartie ballhawk as free safety with Leonhard at the strong. Turnover central. NomarFachix
New York Giants (when playing M2M defense, I don't like the fit of Fewell there, he runs too much zone stuff and that'll hurt Webster and Terrell Thomas) It needs athletic corners, but I enjoy M2M so much more, and that's why I really like a player like Corey Webster. I was going to note the potential of the Giants, but didn't want the homer tag. They have tremendous talent IF healthy, which they aren't. Phillips and Rolle at safety with Webster, Ross, and TT at corner is about as good of a backfield as you're going to get from a talent standpoint. Webster during the '07 playoff run and in '08 under Spags was one of the top 5-10 CBs in football. The idiots up front decided to give the gig to LB coach Sheridan who obviously hadn't a clue how to run a defense and, well... you saw what happened. Fewell has promised a shift away from the Cover 2 and into more man schemes, but from the Giants first two preseason games, I see a ton of 4 man rushes and zones being deployed. We'll see, I guess... Crazy what a competent d-coordinator will do for a defense.

Flash
Giants have a very underrated DB corps. Those 2 Canes at safety are both playmakers and KP is great when healthy. I think its the Jets and then Packers. Woodson and Collins are both ballhawks and I expect Morgan Burnett to have a great rookie season. If Harris is healthy we'll see how these rankings look at the end of the year.

I really like the athletic players they got there in Powers and Lacey, especially Lacey. A solid group.

He had great talent, but he also has an extroadanairy mind. He's doing what he can with a terrible St. Louis roster, but he has some defensive talent to build around (Laurinaitis, Chris Long if he gets his head out of his [expletive], a couple solid tackles, Ron Bartell, OJ Atogwe, etc.) so that obviously benefited Webster. He needs to be in a man heavy scheme, he didn't look great in Sheridan's poo zone defense.
