magicbalala245
Take it for what it's worth, but the Wizards recently made an obligatory call to the Denver Nuggets to check on the availability of all-star forward Carmelo Anthony, a league source said on Friday. The source added that the Wizards were simply doing their due diligence and that the same phone call was made by "29 teams. Carmelo is pretty good." Gilbert Arenas + 1st round picks for Melo anybody? Gilbert Arenas is only 28 years does come with baggage but can score the ball. http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/1804/screenshot20100829at124.png Edited August 29, 2010 by magicbalala245
Newman
Wizards got some pieces that may be available for Melo, (Josh Howard, Al Thornton, Andray Blatche to name a few), but there's no doubt that they would offer Arenas in any part of the deal. *Swish*
That would be sick for the Wizards to get rid of Arenas' huge contract. He doesn't play yet and is not worth it in my opinion. Getting Melo would make them so much better. Him and John Wall could be so dangerous offensively
kingfish
For a team looking to shed locker room distractions, getting Gilbert is the wrong move.
Owner Real Deal Posted August 31, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted August 31, 2010 Not a chance Denver takes on Arenas' contract. That's four years of $18-22 million a season. If Wall was included, yes...but there's no chance of that happening, which means Denver would never take Gilbert in a deal. However, there IS a chance they can trade for him AND Denver would show interest, but it would probably require Blatche, Hinrich and an unprotected first-rounder. Check my Stats
Don't see anything on the Wizards that would be better than what the Knicks/Rockets could offer.

Owner Real Deal Posted September 1, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted September 1, 2010 http://dc.sbnation.com/2010/8/18/1629553/carmelo-anthony-trade-nuggets-rumor-wizards That basically did it for me, there's no way Washington can come up with an offer better than what the Kings, Rockets, Clippers, and Knicks.Three of the four teams you named are out West, and I think Denver wants to avoid trading Melo to a West team. The Knicks COULD send Gallinari, but they are so dead-set on keeping him, they may refuse to and hope that Melo comes to New York in July. And I don't see why the writer is downgrading Hinrich. Denver would be interested. For one, the contract is just two years long, and not in double-digit millions. Two, Hinrich is still one of the best defensive players in the league, and injuries (and playing on the bench and not running the point) only hurt his game in Chicago. Not to mention the rumor about Billups, and even JR Smith. That opens up opportunities for Hinrich, and, well...the Wizards, also. Going to be tough defeating the Nets' offer of Favors, Harris and a pick, though.
AllenIverson#1fan
This ain't happening. Unless JWall is involved but the Wizards aren't moving him.
