reno
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5SDGEhHCGg&feature=related This is the year it all began. The Chicago Bears had been running the 46 Defense w/Buddy Ryan since the early 1980's.It really started to come together after aquiring pro-bowl caliber players like Dan Hampton,Richard Dent,Mike Singletary,Otis Wilson,Wilber Marshall, etc. The Defense set an NFL record of 72 QB sacks in a season that still stands.#1 in total defense,#1 against the run, turnovers,QB completion percentage,3rd down conversion rate, etc.

Lkr
46 Defense would be so ineffective if it was ran today.
crabbylion
46 Defense would be so ineffective if it was ran today. You're right about that, but it was because of the 46 why today's offenses would beat it.... ...it made the offense evolve. Praises to the 46 Defense. Everything evolves...don't be surprised if the NFL starts adopting Meyer's Spread Offense...lol
