Miami at LA Lakers

Real Deal

I have tried to get excited about this game, but it's kinda hard considering that's all anyone ever talks about. The NBA is so focused on the Lakers, Heat and Celtics that they ram it down our throats constantly. There could be a game that goes into triple OT and is won by a buzzer beater, but ESPN will have a 5 minute segment on the Heat after they get beat by 20.

Just like the other day there was a good game and instead of showing more highlights/talking more about that game, they show highlights of the Lakers getting beat by the Bucks by like 20+. then they continue to talk about Kobe, This, Kobe That.

I love the game of basketball, and I love my Spurs but the NBA is [expletive]ing terrible. There is a reason why NFL>>>>>NBA

I agree, ESPN does show there OBVIOUS bias towards LeBron, the Celtics and Lakers. It's hillarious how teams like the Mavs and Spurs aren't really getting any 5+ min segments of ESPN as u stated. Also, with the D-Wade thing, it almost feels like nobody remembers he has an NBA title already and a FInals MVP. I hope tmrws game is good tho.

I really really want a hard cap for the NBA. IMO this would level the playing field throughout the NBA. Large markets like Boston, and LA wouldn't be able to go out and have a salary of 90+ million letting the team go out and sign a bunch of talent. For instance give San Antonio another 30 million in cap space (currently at 63 million ish, Lakers at like 95ish). The Spurs could have gone out and signed some quality free agents. Small markets like Memphis, and Toronto don't generate enough revenue to enable thier owners to open thier pocketbooks. It's not a coincidence that the Lakers and Celtics hold the majority of the NBA titles. Hell with the exception of a few teams the majority of NBA titles have gone to teams that play in large markets. (San Antonio, Detroit, Houston are some of the exceptions). With a hard cap I think the NBA would be more competitive and entertaining. Sure there wouldn't be "super" teams like the Heat, but I think most fans of the "other" teams are tired of the same teams year in and year out in the finals.

Sorry about my rant it's Christmas eve and I have had too much to drink lol, and I know it really has nothing to do with the topic sooooo..

I think Lakers take this game, thier size should be a problem for the Heat as long as Gasol shows up. Hope both teams lose though :)

Whoever isn't guarding Kobe tonight is going to have a "day off" on defense. So hopefully Lebron guards him so Wade can take it easy on the defensive side and light it up on offense.

If this argument seems really stupid to you, I heard it on ESPN and thought it made sense.
